Sidebottom a Tagger?

Thank you! I can't remember who I was arguing with earlier in the pre-season regarding Sidebottom's speed, but you just pointed out a very clear fact that it really is close to irrelevent.

Probably me, and I'm adopting a wait-and-see approach with him.

My biggest gripe was that a) He's slow but not an inside mid, a combo which doesn't usually have much success in this league.
b) He is, by his own admission, poor defensively, and we already have a rubbish defensive midfield.

That's why I wasn't on board with the selection as much as some others. Having said that, I obviously concede I'm working off very limited info, and Sidebottom could end up being a champion. We all need to see him play a few games first though.

Sidebottom played as a forward pocket/midfielder during that game, IIRC.

No but I would be interested to hear why you don't think he's inside.

I haven't seen him so I'm going purely on what others write. I read that he was one of the highest in the TAC cup competition for clearances (may have been contested possessions can't quite remember) and also going off reports I have read he seems to be quite capable of playing as an inside midfielder role.

Could be any one of these once he has played a game..............

Beames, Sidey, Rounds, the whole lot of them are "untried".

Give them at least a half a dozen games before we "pigeon hole" them.
