We are showing great faith in him signing him for 5. Remember Bucks saying we don't like doing it with Cloke. But they don't come much more durable and reliable than Sidebottom.

The footy world has changed dramatically since then. Cloke was very much at the vanguard of these new multi-year mega deals.

Good deal, cheap, but not unreasonable. While Sidebottom will turn 30 before the final year of the contract starts he's the type that could play well beyond that.

I like that we're offering longer contracts, better for cap management, list stability and minimising free agency. Also has the added bonus of less conjecture.

So happy that loyalty exists. That's cheap if true. He would easily get 750k elsewhere
No.. no he wouldn't.

Wouldn't even get close.

There is only a small amount of players earning 750k or over per year, and most are superstar KPP or multiple AA/Brownlow winning mids.

500k a year is more then fair. Sidebottom is no superstar

Cloke Treloar and Pendlebury already take up the spots in our 700K+ club

So are Swan and Martin.
I honestly don't watch the Tigers enough to comment on Martins game, but I'm pretty sure that burst speed was a major feature of Swans game through his prime (and still is to a certain extent), and endurance was never his major forte.

In fact, the only similarity I see to Steele is that they're both durable.
