Living in Sydney and not having pay tv, i don't get to see a lot of our players in the media and hence can't make educated judgements on their personality etc.

Now the reason i started this thread is i want to know if we have any fears with steele wanting out if we can't offer him as much as he could get elsewhere. Does he seem like a loyal bloke? I know he seems pretty laid back and always smiling on the field.

I hope fellow pies fans can give me a bit of insight into his character and especially whether we think we can keep him on a possible lesser salary than elsewhere.

I reckon he is our third most important signing behind cloke and Reid, although beams could become equally important this year. Ball is also important but i have no doubt he will stay for whatever we offer him.

I have met him a fair few times and he is a really good guy. Good mates with blairy and I couldn't see him leaving. He is pretty settled in Melbourne. Beams is also settled but you could see him going to gc if the price was right because his family and friends are there. Sidebottom is the most approachable at the club and knows he is worshipped down here, he would love it.

After i started this thread i actually realised he is not much chance of leaving. I don't think he would be a gws target as they have all their young draft picks and probably are after older and more experienced players with their pick ups from other clubs. Also i can't see any other club giving us what we would want in a trade for him. I am sure he knows if he stays with us for less now, it will pay off in the future.

I am glad he is a nice guy as well as he seems that way. He is in my top 3 favourite players with ball and pendles.

Also Doubt Reid would leave and I reckon he be Re-Signed very shortly

What might help us is that GWS won't have any shortage of mid sized talent. I reckon it's our key stocks we have to guard.
