You can actually be quite rational when not posting on race/Jewish issues. Shorten like Abbott is unelectable unless you get a Krudd/Gillard car crash or in this case A Dutton.

The hard/right kid themselves that they are electable. The demographics dont work the hard right outside the few bible belt seats mostly have support from working class seats, this was illustrated when quite a few alp seats voted no for gay marriage. By and large the ALP will hold those seats. Meanwhile they will bleed middleclass (as they will vote against what is in their interests) seats to independents and the alp.

Now whilst the alp and the greens have ludicrous energy policies if the right think punters are going to vote for them because they kept renewables targets 10 points lower they are mad.
A little drive-by there!!!! Always rational, considered and most of all factual with my contributions. It's just that you have a major blind spot. But I haven't given up hope that there is at least some semblance of humanitarianism in you. Think Procrastinator35 sees you as a lost cause though;)

The ALP has got better over time with their political advertising/campaigning -not before time - and their seat-by-seat polling strategy. I really don't think it matters who leads the conservatives as my feeling is the electorate has by-and large made up its mind. It's just a question of who is best fitted to limiting the damage from the reactionaries perspective.

A reasonable coherent post. Keep it up.:)

Goose-stepping would be mandatory in all State-schools, one would imagine.....And manned with para-military at all gates & roof-tops.

Look out posts & gun batteries ever kilometre of Oz coast too....With helicopter gun-ships in every port.

Military service would be mandatory for all brown-shirt wearing 15-18 year olds, with both the Cubs & Scouts brought into alignment with strict dress-codes regulated under govt policy.

Anyone showing outward sign of revolutionary thinking at a young age, will be sent off to the country-side, to a farm-stay (low security prison) for re-education in how to pick & peel their potatoes so that they all resemble Herr Dutton.

As for Dutton, any watch of Question Time shows he is the next most polished front-bencher after Turnbull - better than ranty Morrison, cliche Bishop or ridiculous Pyne. He is quite well spoken, with punchy direct lines which always hit Labor in the guts - meaning he will be an effective campaigner as leader, similar to Abbott but without the mind-numbing repetition of words.....
He needs more of a public profile though

When duttun was a copper in qld there was shooting parties at night targeting indigenous.

Nothing had changed since invasion. Hence why he walked out of the apology. He's been implicated in some nasty stuff himself.

To have a man who is best suited to the gestapo or the FBI when they assasinated the Martin Luther Kings, to be in parliment is a disgrace to this country

To have him so close to prime minister is a clear cut case we are a racist brutal nation who are not sorry for the genocide

Hes as thick as. The wonder is this isn't the prime discussion point here.

One interview on economics will finish his run dead
It is hard to tell, he may simply be an extremely accomplished actor. But he does come across as being as thick as a thick one. If he faces the Hague, and he should, he'd probably get off on grounds of mental incompetence.

When did this Australian Politics forum become so childish and wildly left-wing? It used to contain good discussions even with a left-leaning bias many years ago.

He needs more of a public profile though - at the moment he is defined by left-wingers who think he is worse than...wait for it...Hitler.

I’m thinking Bronwyn Bishop was all that, and was in line to be lib opposition leader

Pity she got some basic economics questions and was instant fail. In true right wing fashion she was dropped like a hot potato

Even if you think about the current backbenchers with experience; guys like Abbott, Andrews, Abetz and Barnaby are hardly renowned for their competence as Ministers.
When you mention those 4 troglodytes it reminds me of just how far the standard of parliamentary representation has fallen.

I will vote for Dutton if he gets all our Fed and state police, border force and our military to wear some nice retro uniforms designed by Hugo Boss. And puts on some big rallies at the G.

Hugo Boss....Very fitting indeed.

Murdoch as Goebbels would be standard fare.

Bolt can be Hess, & Panahi Leni Riefenstahl.

How will the likely new PM Peter Dutton change the govt?

What policies will change?

Who will be Deputy Lib leader?

Will ScoMo still be Treasurer?

What front bench changes will occur, including what ministry will Abbott get?

Who will take over as Führer of Homeland Security?

3 word sloganeering in Opposition.
Tony Abbott as his deputy.
