*Sigh* Our Forward line.

Have a crack at Roughhead right now.

We should've been prepared to give up anything bar the 4 guns, and a couple of players like Rutten & Stiffy.

If we had gotten Pav instead of Carey, we would've won another couple of flags, no doubt in my mind.

Everyone has a price, we should have matched it.

Is he out of contract? Does he want to move? Agreed, get the club to find out

So if Freo wanted Reilly ,Griffin and Knights for Pav...you would have done it?

Subjective but possibly correct

Trade for a quality small forward line crumber and develop a key forward out of what we have already got.

Maric, Meesen. Griffin, Sellar and Tippet. One of them needs to come through as a strong bodied forward.

While we've never ever ever had a complte gun forward line - I actually thought it looked ok yesterday when the ball was delivered quickly and accurately.

but then a bunch of things happened to conspire to make it look shizen.......

Gill always looks like he can take a mark.
Ken's efforts as a deep marking target were good (he came unravelled when he became a lead up target and the midfield were kicking it wide to him).
Why the hell Burton (about the only x-factor player we have) was asked to do the defensive sweeping role is beyond me......surely there was someone just as qualified.......Burton needed to say forward.
I like Porps - but bloody hell .......kicking out on the full from 45 on the run is unacceptable.....he has a lot of work to do....getting the ball is not enough. With Roo gone now hopefully Welsh will play on the full forward line. He struggles each time he goes to half fwd.

When the structure is maintained - it always looks dangerous. One the robbing Peter to pay Paul starts - it always looks inept

I reckon Porps was too selfish yesterday. Usually he's a pretty good team player but yesterday he was selfish. Wanted all the glory. There were many times he could've passed it off but decided to have a ping :thumbsd:.

But everyone's been criticizing our players for NOT backing themselves. As soon as they start doing so you want to knock them down again. Let them do what they do. FFS in the end it was three points and there were a hundred trillion things you could point out from yesterday as being costly.

Yeah but there are times when you should be selfish and other times you shouldn't. When there are free players and you're on the run and under presure you should do the team thing. Our decision making and "feel for the game" is pretty crap. That's one thing athletes can't learn. We need to draft smarter players.

Andrew Krakouer kicked 4 goals and set up about 4 also in our (Coburgs) VFL qualifying final. He single turned the game in coburg favour kicking two in a row and his forward pressure was great (it always has been). He has struggled this year (with court issues etc) but maybe a change in enviroment may do him good. Do you think that he would be of any interest to you.

Cleve Hughes also did well kicking a couple and presented well from CHF, marking and giving off precise handballs to runners. I don't think we would trade him, but it is interesting to see what you guy's think he would be worth?

I would expect him to head west

A lot on this board pushed for him at his draft year

Would look again at him for sure

If you could get him cheap I reckon the crows should go after Courtney JOHNS. Appears to be getting his body right and a change of scenery could be all he needs. He spent most of his junior footy in Sth Aust so it would be like coming home for him anyway.

Krakouer has talent, but I don't think his off field stuff is the kind of thing that attracts a lot of love from the Crows.

If it were up to me I would give my left (cough) for one of either Davey, Didak or LeCras.

To answer a couple of queries, Clinton Young is a rookie elevation and is the reason why we were prepared to trade NLonie to Port a couple of years back as the makeweight for the two-pick deal for Jonny Hay. Certainly has areas to improve in his game, especially his kicking for goal from outside 50 metres (should kick more than he actually has done this season). But definitely a great run and carry player for the Hawks.

Roughead, I believe, signed a two-year contract in 2006, so is contracted to the Hawks until the end of 2008.

I agree, unless there is chance to get some real quality like a Kossie.

If that rumour you mentioned in the other thread is true, it looks like we might have a chance to get some quality. Didak is underrated by a few people, I tell you our forward line would get a huge shot in the arm if he was traded to us. He can crumb, he's a serious goal kicker, got that touch of freak about him. Snap him up in a heartbeat.

Kossie re-signed didn't he ?

YOu think Adealide would go near Didak ?

You can crusify Thompson for that last kick all you like but if it wasn't for Thompson and Edwards in that second half the margin wouldn't have been 3 points, it would have been MUCH MUCH greater!
FFS, he is one player that steps up when the chips are down. Sure he makes some stupid mistakes but his good FAR outweighs his bad! If anythings, since that game against St. Kilda, you can count on Thompson in big games.

well put

To tell you the truth I wish we could trade Perrie for some Gun forward but I dont think anyone would want him. We need to keep Gill and Welsh. They both have great hands but Gilly needs to work on scoring:rolleyes: I have to say Porps played a pretty average game but still luv him. This long break he needs to work on goals on the run. Out on the full from 45 metres:confused: PORPS!! But we shood keep Porps. Hes young, fit and got great hands.
I would do anythin for Buddy.
1: Hes such a good goal kicker
2: We could work on his hands (he dropped the ball alot!)
3: He looks like a really nice guy.
........ We just need one really tall, target forward :thumbsu:
