The campaign follows a media diversity inquiry earlier this year in which Rudd claimed he was “fearful of the Murdoch media beast” when he was in office.

Even if they just support the best candidate at the time - have supported both sides... News outlets were ever thus. Certainly not supporting Morrison right now, through thick and thin. Who will they support next election? If it's Labor (Prime Minister Albanese*) what then?

Rudd absolutely has a point, unfortunately like so many before him, he seems to have these great ideas when he's no longer in a position to do anything directly about it.Very difficult to take anything Rudd says with a grain of salt.
