Parochial? Us? Yep! But not noisy as a rule these days. The crowd has deserted rowdy support in favour of knitting (true!) or sipping from the thermos cup. Fewer "lads" giving the umpire hell or even stirring up the opposition players. We dominate Skilled Stadium with our members' seating so we don't get the "friendly/heated" exchanges with other supporters - except at Telstra Dome or the G.Gday guys,
It was funny reading this thread today because many Swannies fans on our supporters website (not Bigfooty) were saying how Geelong have some of the most parochial supporters in the game.
Perhaps you are underselling yourselves!!

Hey I do yell sometimes! I yell at Telstra Dome.![]()
GO CATS!Don't know how you see this, living on the Gold Coast but it is amusingly true - a lot of oldies. We've said before - many of them do not even know the players. Two old ducks, during the curtain raiser, kept asking me which one was Tom Lonergan - "No. 13" ( he was playing off the bench) - every time they saw No 15 they'd ask, "Is that him?" Finally I thought it easier to say yes! At one stage Byrnes had the ball (he had it quite often) and they asked again - Byrnes is about 1 metre shorter than Tom L. !!!90% of the people who attend kp are in fact in age care facilities and have just been given there lunch snack and mediaction , so in fact most of the old grannys and pops , are sleeping whilst its game time and only awake after the final siren , thats why the final siren sounds for 5 seconds instead of 3 seconds like the other quaters .

No hazard in your guess (av. age circa 70) - better duck as I'm not all that young except mentally - and vocally! There was some evidence last year that we had one of the highest percentages of concession memberships in the AFL...
This either means we have a heap of younger members or we have a considerable amount of older members.......i'd hazard a guess and say its the latter![]()

I think we have a lot of maybe 18-25 year old supporters too, who would mostly be concession (like me). I seem to notice a relatively high proportion of people my age support Hawthorn, Geelong etc., and - I kid you not - I do not know even one Richmond fan. There was some evidence last year that we had one of the highest percentages of concession memberships in the AFL...
