Toast Silvagni

We missed Dawson and as much as he cops, he's a solid defender and works well with who we have. In his first season at Freo he'd always butcher the easy stuff but then do the miraculous, like some 30 metre run down and tackle or a clearing punch from the wrong pocket. But he's very consistent now and he's rightfully an automatic starter.

Silvagni is a very much a confidence player too I think. So I'd love to see him string a few matches together but where do you play him? A good headache to have but he deserves a run against the Cats and he'll probably get it. Could be very interesting.
He will match up on Tom Hawkins very well thank you or he can go forward if Mayne is left out due to sore elbow \ribs .

I think it maybe time for Clancee to play in the back pocket in place of Spurr .

Yeh I liked his game, opened up play by foot late in the second IIRC with a beautiful long pass to sutty's advantage down the wing.

Was helped a lot by Jhonno as is customary with freos defence but yes, def an above average performer today

And this I had to think at the time was something Dawson would rarely be seen doing (being so attacking with a kick out of defence). If Silvagni was a few cms taller and able therefore able to play on resting rucks he probably would be getting more games. As it is I get the feeling Dawson should be ok to go against Geelong but McPharlin will not be and therefore McPharlin will not be back until after the bye and Silvagni gets another game.

He put two fists to the ball when he could have marked too much, yes he is defensively minded but we could have built momentum from a mark and reset.

He battles hard but gees, as far as footy smarts go he's just not got it.

We really missed Dawson and McPharlin today.
