Eventhough you missed the point I was making ...

... The answer to your question is "yes": for double header games. It was announced at the members forum that any games where the AFL and VFL are being played on the same day, they'll try to play the VFL game at the Holden Centre.
What is wrong of playing it at Vic Park. Shows what I have heard. Eddie is not a Fan of Vic Park:cry:

... He also announced at the members forum that the club are lobbying to host a NAB challenge game at Vic Park in 2017.

It was only the double header games that would be played at the Holden centre (ie: including those games where you had to leave Vic Park at 3/4 time to get to the start of the seniors in time)

What? Dave, you're the first to complain when there's a double header and you have to miss a part of one of the games. Now Eddie comes up with a solution and you accuse him of not liking Vic Park???

How would Changing the Venue make a Huge Difference on Double Headers? Maybe get a extra 5-10 minutes.

I been told by someone on the Vic Park Community that Ed not the Biggest fan of Vic Park. Guess the Council not helping makes it hard for us to Look After it

The Holden Center is basically across the road from the MCG, it means fans can walk across from the VFL game to the AFL game in quick time instead of having to catch a train. That extra 10 minutes allows you to see more of the VFL game, which is what you've been complaining about.

Whether or not Ed is a fan of Vic Park is irrelevant. He acknowledges its historical significance, and knows it's the spiritual home of the Pies. There's no way he'd ever discard it as a venue for Collingwood to play its home games at.

Agree that most Fans will prefer the Double Headers at Holden Center and Now I think of it. It's probably better. As long Non-Double Headers Home Game still played at Vic Park.

What happens if the Double Header game is a Shitlands;)

Bump.

In the CFC Christmas video at 3:50 you can see that they've erected scaffolding under where one of the public entrances used to be into the stands of the old glasshouse (ie: the stands overlooking the sprung floor area).

Maybe Westpac Centre phase 4 is now underway, and the club plans to open up the old stands?

Nah that's for the new 'dave interactive display'.

Details are sketchy, but one exhibit has fans yelling out 'shutup dog'.

Looks to me like it's just for direct access for players and staff from indoor facilities to training oval... That area is inaccessible for the public.

The direct access for the players and staff is at ground level - that's already there.

It's the area above that (on the roof of the admin block)

Why didn't the club build a carpark under the Olympic Park oval while they had the opportunity? It would have cost a bomb, but it would have been a fantastic revenue earner.

It's a prime parking location (tennis centre, AAMI stadium, MCG, New Glasshouse venue hire, access to city). Good for CFC members and fans (game day, special club events). Good entry / exit access on Swan St and Monash Freeway.

There probably would have been some killjoys in the local / state government or Olympic Park trust who would have sunk it.
76, the cost of an underground carpark really is enormous. Monstrous. And then we would have to train on the revamped grass surface above it. I see where you are coming from with this, but there are significant issues.
That must have been a very long time ago?

It was the athletics training track for the 1956 Olympics, and retained in that general configuration right up until the time we demolished it?
Yep, that's correct.

Also, I know there's lots of heritage overlays, but it would be nice if the green seats were replaced in club colours. It doesn't look like they're original.
Should be no issue replacing most, if not all, of the seats in heritage terms. I've dealt with Heritage Victoria before, on approvals for the Holden Centre.

I would love for them to have a multilevel carpark there! The thing that turns me off going to training most times is parking! It's just inconvenient and I don't want to catch the train.

Parking over the river and crossing the bridge is not that bad... slightly annoying but it takes 5 minutes.

Which side over the river? I always just find it so much of a hassle around that area and it really deters me.
Near the Tan track. I thought the same thing until someone posted that idea because I always got the train to Richmond but if you're coming from there drive just past the Holden Centre, over the bridge turn left and there's heaps of parks along the Yarra you know with the parkland across the road.

Alexandra Avenue.
