This is actually quite a good comparison compared to some of the silly ones that get posted on this thread.

Overall Black is the better player although he can go completely missing in games and has been injured a bit more as he's getting on in years.

For his Career you must say Black.
When both players are at there peak you must say Black.
But in the last 2 years only i would rather corey in my team.

Obviously.. Black hasn't even managed to win the Brownlow in these past two years, just the measly second in both.:thumbsd:

I daresay Black cops a heavier tag, given he's been our number 1 mid for some years now?:o

The idiots in this place never ceases to amaze me:o

If Black didn't have OP in the second half of the season he would have won the Brownlow. Something like 19-20 votes after 11 games.

Corey's a fantastic player, won the best and fairest for geelong and is clearly a vital part in their midfield.
Black on the other hand has won almost everything, not to mention coming runners up in the brownlow for the last 2 years.

Corey is all quality and has been very consistent for the last few years but when compared to black?, an absolute champion makes this thread look bad for Corey.

strange comparison.

I'll preface this by saying that I've already voted for Black and then show you how silly it is to use being runner-up in the Brownlow as some sort of vindication.

Brownlow 2008
Black: 23 votes, polled in 9 games, played 21 H&A games
Corey: 15 votes, polled in 9 games, played 22 H&A games

Brownlow 2007
Black: 22, 8 and 21
Corey: 12, 6 and 22

Brownlow 2006
Black: 11,5 and 22
Corey: 10, 4 and 22

Brownlow 2005
Black: 6, 2 and 18
Corey: 11, 6 and 19

Brownlow 2004
Black: 18, 9 and 22
Corey: 9, 4 and 19

Overall:
Black: 80 votes polled in 33 games out of a possible 104 games
Corey: 57 votes polled in 29 games out of a possible 104 games

Apart from the actual votes polled there's not a lot of difference. Black over his career has been the better player, he's one of my favourites and he's certainly a lot more classy and polished looking, but I'd think Corey has been just as effective the last 3 to 4 seasons.

Black B&F in 2001,2002 (premiership years) and 2006
Corey B&F in 2005 and 2008

I rate B&Fs higher than the Brownlow. To win the Brownlow you can play blinders in 7 to 9 games then either be out injured or just plain awful in the other 13 to 15 games.
