I thought Carlton did really well in the draft. I reckon they will give a few sides a kick in the butt this year. They wont make the 8 but they might help to shape it. As for Richmond, if Richo is still there then the smae onld problems still exist. How can a club put up with the stuff he dishes out to his teammates?

Yes round 13 will be interesting. Interesting to see how you're going to stop the likes of Johnson, Richo, gaspar, stafford, tivendale, coghlan, brown, campbell, ottens, rhodan. Who do we have to worry about. hmmm.. cant think of anyone.

Maybe these richmond supporters are right and they will make the finals for the third time in 20 years and in the process they will prove what a powerful club they are.

Oh and by the way i was just wondering what the score was in round 12 when carlton played richmond. I just cant seem to remember. Although i do recall someone who used to play for richmond kicking 5 goals.

I'm not sure what your argument is though. Knights was pushed therefore you're saying that his retirement was better than Ratten's who retired due to recurring shoulder injuries.

Richmond is the team that I'm least concerned about playing against.

ITSINTHEBLOOD, while I don't support either of teams you people are arguing about, you must honestly be in la la land mate.

I can't even comprehend how a Richmond supporter can come on a forum like this and expect to be taken seriously! The Tigers would have to be the worst team in the AFL to support.

You have about 3 top line players, your coach makes Grant Thomas look like a mastermind, and you have made the finals twice in the last 20 years! Every time you guys win a game you start talking premierships, and every time you lose you start talking sackings and delistings.

Let's go through your list of players that opposition clubs "have to stop" to have a chance of defeating the perenial underachievers ro Punt Rd shall we:

Richo- don't need to bother with an opponent, he is his own worst enemy. (See Rich V Carl a couple of years ago- Richo gave up on a contest bc Matty Knights' pass didn't hit him on the chest)

Johnson- decent player, but not the kind of player that every other club doesn't have at LEAST one of.

Gaspar- since when do teams need to "stop" the opposition full back???

Stafford- a very competent player, tough to match up on.

Tivendale- please........................let's be serious for a moment

Coughlan- good player, tries his hardest, hardly a matchwinner or headache for the opposition though.

Brown- a definite problem for opposing teams

Campbell- nearing end of career, still a decent midfielder though. Not capable of things he once was, not really a thorn in the side of opposition teams.

Ottens- Great player.

Rodan- don't need to worry abouthim, Frawley does his best to take him out of the equation so other coaches don't have to worry about him.

There you go, not really a list that will instill fear into the opposition. Carlton by no means has a better, or for that matter worse, core group than you, but please, try no to be so naive.

And for crying out loud, can the Tiger fans PLEASE learn the rules of the game. Just beacuse a guy gets tackled by a Richmond player it doesn't automatically mean it is holding the ball!

Feel free to attack the Carlton Football Club because they deserve it. But you might want to check your own backyard before hurling abuse over the fence.

About as long as it took you to work out how to SPELL thesaurus. Oh and by the way, just in case you had a little bit of trouble reading the big words in my post, check out the first line.......I'm not a carlton supporter.

I gather from your caveman-like response that you don't really have any intelligent argument of substance to put forward.

Oh yeh, one other thing. You put the question forward as to how carlton would "stop" all these 'guns' that you mentioned. They will probably just employ the same game plan that they used to beat you in 2002 and 2003.......when they finished last and second last.

Actually, I support Freo. I offer my sympathies towards you and your Richmond alumni. It's not your fault you were born that way.
