Rumour Simon Goodwin resigning today?

Thank you for seeing sense.

He was an absolute spud and yet some Giants fans still think he did a good job 🤣🤣

It looked like he was doing a good job because they were getting to GF’s and Prelims during that time. That team could’ve had no coach, no structures in place and made it to Prelim/GF’s on individual talent alone.

100% mate

Goodie told them all to stand still and wait for the ball to come to them. Lucky the players ignored him, some doubt it would have worked.
Goodwin's instructions were to go defensive with 10 minutes left in the third to try and stay within a few goals. Max was to have a short break and go back on and play behind the ball. The players and Burgess said * that, they thought they had a chance at blowing the Bulldogs apart based on the minutes played and subs. They knew they had their best team in the center and the Bulldogs were tired.

They ignored him. The rest is history.

This is nonsense, I listened to the episode of the podcast you mentioned where Burgess talks about the Grand Final and they don't say anything close to what you're alleging.

All he said was that our run of goals started when Jackson and our best mids came back on with fresh legs all at once. He barely even mentioned Goodwin at that point because he was talking about the game from the perspective of fitness.

It's hilarious that the only way you can enjoy the premiership is to take the credit off the coach.

OK champ - you hear what you want to hear.

Some think Sheedy did a good job. Some coaches clearly are good at being convincing. Goodwin being the perfect example.
'Sheedy was drinking a lot of the time and his assistants did most of the work' paraphrased from a former Giants rookie (didn't get to debut sadly)

Having him as a figurehead was a good way to build a name for GWS.

Extending him a year and seeing assistants leave was a terrible idea.

Have heard a lot of the same, at Essendon his assistants ran all trainings while Sheeds hung out upstairs then would come down for the last 10mins.
