The Adelaide Crows have admitted that Simon Goodwin is one of four players under investigation by the AFL for betting on AFL games. Goodwin has admitted his is guilty.

The four players face a fine of up to $100,000 or life suspension from playing in and attending AFL games.

Well, there goes our chance of having the Caroline Wilsons and Mike Sheehans of this world pick up on our Heritage Round issue. Their plates will be full of juicy delicious betting morsels from now until the season starts.

100 thousand no worries each member will donate 2 dollars and thats all fixed up

where if one of your players did it each member would have to donate 10 dollars and thats a lot from the pension or dole
 
Goodwin probably deserves what he gets for doing what he did but...

i certainley hope he dosent get banned from playing, Goodwin is a great player, it would be a shame to lose him from something stupid like this.

If Burgoyne, Thurstans and Brogan were all fined $5000 by Port for their ILLEGAL indescretions, what should Goody be fined for his LEGAL mistake? However, in saying that, I think he should receive a fine from the club ( as well as whatever fine the AFL hands out )and removed from the leadership group. Stupid, stupid boy but hardly the sort of criminal activity we have come to expect from our feral cousins.

Yeah, whatever.

I'm suggesting if you honestly believe your Crows are a bunch of wholesome law abiding little angels you really should get out more.

I know what i've seen with my own eyes. I also believe what my friends (one-eyed Crow supporters among them) tell me they've seen.

listen einstein, obviously if there were equivalents of these incidents they would be public knowledge. just like the gambling one has become.

but then everyone has friends who see more interesting and exciting stories, when you're not around - just not everyone believes theirs.

well "einstein", if we follow this kind of logic we can only conclude the alleged parklands incident never occurred. I mean what do we have to go on? No charges, no prison sentence, nothing. Just some shaky heresay.

What do we have to go on, HMM let's see reports on ABC, RealFooty, The Advertiser, Melbourne Herald Sun, The Australian, 5AA and let's not forget the $200,000 hush money, which Port Adelaide itself PUBLICALLY said it did not contribute towards.

Although there were no criminal charges laid, there are plenty of people within one degree of separation who know what did transpire than night. A girl was injured in a horrible manner and she was silenced with a nice pay cheque. It's strange how people like you see that as 'innocence'. Seriously, if cant accept that your players can do no wrong and you don't want to be seen as condoning that kind of behaviour, the best course of action would be to say nothing.

I've met people who have sold drugs, that doesn't mean they're not drug dealers because they haven't been caught yet. Same goes for people who commit assault.
