Did you sit on the bowling green brick fence as a kid? That’s where I was most games .

I was in the Reynolds stand, but went to training nearly once a week for years.

Actually...if you look closely, you can see me & a couple of my buddies in the background of a team photo...!

Can you shed any light on why Justin was disliked?

Personally I hate how he uses his goofy, ostensibly self-deprecating manner to somehow steer every conversation back to himself. Incredibly smug.

Arrogant.

An Essendon legend has actually said that he hoped that Justin Madden fell over in the race before the game, got badly injured & couldn't play - and not because he didn't rate him as a player.... This was while he (Justin) was still at Essendon!

Thank god for that - Scott has always been an under-rated player.

True story... A family friend & ex Essendon player was working at Hawthorn for a while, and when I was about 8 or 9, he took me to watch Hawthorn train. Don Scott bought me a chocolate Big M after training, I was suitably impressed & told my parents how great he was. I was told, in no uncertain terms, that yes, he may be a nice man, but he is a HAWTHORN PLAYER.
