hey everyone :D

what are your thoughts on simon phillips?

will he get much game time?

does he get many possesions?

thank you in advance :)

We have a few injuries and he seems to be coming along nicely. Nippy little goal sneaks will come in very handy this year methinks.

How exciting, everyone is starting threads on the roomies. Next it will be Bevo.

Anywho, a few months ago i didn't think Simon Phillips would get a chance to play senior football for atleast a while, but to his credit he is really standing up and giving himself a real chance to be selected for round 1. When we played Richmond two weeks ago he was named one of the best for Sydney kicking 3 goals and then on Friday night i think he kicked 2 goals? Not too sure about the rest of his game though. We've got a few midfielders out at the moment, so now is really his chance.

Hopefully he can play well againest Port on Friday night, i'll be cheering for him! He's the only roomie that isn't injured at the moment, so he's got to do them all proud.

Someone wants a roughie for their dream team methinks

As a general rule I'd steer clear of goalsneak types for dreamteam purposes, they can bob up and kick 3 or 4 goals, but do it with only half a dozen kicks

If you want someone who is likely to get a little more of the ball, then you'd perhaps be better off taking a punt on the likes of Matt Laidlaw, Jon Simpkin, Jarred Moore or Tim Schmidt - of course they actually have to snag a regular spot first, but if you're looking for a cheap player who might break through this year, those are the names I'd be looking at

As for Phillips himself, I'd say he's got a very good chance of being in the Rd 1 team, he seems to be in good form at the moment, and there's no reason why he can't establish himself as a good regular player

But as a dreamteam player, I think he has limited scope

Actually add Keiran Jack to that list - he's had a very good pre-season and been handed some big jobs which he's handled well

He should be eligible for promotion as a 'nominated rookie' as the Swans have no veterans outside the primary list

nah im not really after him d.t wise

i remember him kicking the winning goal when you beat west coast and also kicking a few as well thats all really
