Can i just say, what a game from him today. 18 posessions, and 16 hitouts against the best ruckmen in the comp today. Outstanding, took marks at key points in the back half and provided a presence all day. Looks composed when in control of the ball now, without the brain fades of last year, combined with his tremendous mobility. Doesn's have a bad kick either. If he could chip in with a goal or two now or then up forward then he could become a real quality ruckmen.

His best game today, he looks comfortable now and his ball use has improved. Could win the most improved if he keeps going at this rate. He has got a big motor and I hope that he takes it up to Everitt next week. I would love to see him or big Robby tackle him into the ground.

I've read somewhere that he was an ex-rower?
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea for the recruitment dpt, to start hanging around near the yarra to spot for tall rowers...:D

Rubbing my nose in it.

I thought he was not of AFL standard and possibly the worst player on an AFL list.

Not a world beater by any stretch but he is working his arse off and deserves all the credit in the world for his improvement.

Right now he more than belongs at this level.

I'm absolutely LOVING the way he regularly drops back into defense to take saving contested marks. He won the game against the Cats in Tassie doing this, and has been doing it ever since. I thought he did well today, but were those really his stats? Then yes, probably his best game in Brown and Gold...

gee TAYLOR ,BOYLE ,MC GLYN a lot of people on this site have a lot of humble pie on there face.BUT THATS GREAT TO SEE.KEEP up the good work boys.:thumbsu:

Couldnt have said it better, we can do nothing wrong in our recruiting it seems, everyone wanted brennan kept and to get rid or trade for low draft picks, taylor(2005/06 IMO just had no skills or footy smarts), McGlynn(2006 was just slow/small and lacked skills/polish), Boyle (2006 just looked unfit granted his knee problems and that he didnt have the heart to achieve success at the highest level).

Those were my thoughts back then on those guys and I'm loving being proved wrong.

Ditto. I thought that he was going to quietly fade away and never be heard from again.

Very glad to be wrong. Working very hard with Campbell.

i still remember that game againts the roos, when shwab was coaching and he bounced the ball and couldnt pick it up

i thought he was a joke and couldnt stop laughing at him

now when i see how this kid has come and how much he has improved as a player and a ruck man i think we may have the best ruck duo in the league

taylor has proved that persistance and perseverance will get you to were you wana be in life

go taylor and go hawks

He is nearly averaging on of those big goal saving marks a game.

We were discussing that game today. He used to panic when he got it. Looks more comfortable and composed.

big thumbs up for taylor.... watched him closely today and he looks the goods.... he is our most important player at the moment with Bob Campbells poor form... Tails got Sammy into the game in the second quarter and we never looked back...

when Big Bob gets back to his bullocking best that he showed he had last year then we are going to go from stregth to strength....
