I acknowledge that this has probably been attempted in other threads, but as the draft gets closer and there is more conjecture about it, i thought it might be good to have a forum to post your draft wishes and guesses in the same post.

So its simple....

first list is who you want in an ideal world.

second list is who you guess we will end up with.

I understand posts can be edited? So if you change your mind as the draft nears, you can come back and edit your choices.

Reasons for selections are fine but should be put below the lists.

Wish list

Murphy
Hurn
Lucy
Bower

1) Marc Murphy - complete midfiledler and a natural leader. Footballer first and athlete second who knows his game and how to play. Will just get better and better as he gets fitter and stronger.

4) Shannon Hurn - Skills and leadership. Kick the ball 50m of 1 step easily or 60m in space. Leadership and great hands overhead and on the ground. Good enough straight line speed. His deficiencies I feel will be overcome after a few pre seasons. Those being the lack of agility and the fitness to play midfield.

alternatively Patrick Ryder or Andrew Swallow

20) Austin Lucy - Size and speed when up and going. Slow off the mark might limit him to CHB. Top line speed is fantastic. Big size and has built up this year and hardened his body right up.

alternatively Paul Bower or a pacy midfielder in Varcoe/Oakley-Nicholls and Pendlebury as a freak type utility.

36) Paul Bower - bottom aged CHB/FB who should fill out nicely to improve his body on body work. Likes to run off and create and just what we need with our Livo/Teague types down back who give us nothing when rebounding from the backline. Raw but has the physical attributes to make it at AFL level.

alternatively Wayde Mills or Grae Grant.

Prediction:
1. Murphy

36. Mills

I think Ryder's size and mobility combined is just what we need. If we decide to go with another midfielder than Swallow or Ellis. Prefer pace of those two compared to Hurn.

Surely IDEAL WORLD would mean:
1.Murphy
4.Hurn
20.Kennedy
36.Ellis

I mean, isnt that ideal???

Would love Hurn and Murphy, both have great leaderships skills!
Football is alot to do with confidence and player/team phsycology - so picking up level headed kids who are good leaders will always be a major advantage.

Nope, I'd just delist another player. Bannister springs to mind.

Marc Murphy will definitely go number #1. He’s the standout in this years draft, and will probably have an impact in his first year with the Blues. The uncertainty arises with pick #4. Suspect Ellis will definitely go top-4, and be probably picked up by Collingwood at #2. Hawthorn’s pick (#3) will be interesting. They’ve picked up several tall KP players in previous drafts, and may go for a midefielder like Hurn this year. The Blues will probably go for a mobile KP forward type with their pick #4 – Dowler, Kennedy or Ryder, although they’d be very tempted to pick Ellis or Hurn if they are overlooked by the Pies and Hawks. The Blues already have lots of talented KP types on their list (Waite, Fisher, Walker, Setanta, Hartlett). Doubt the Blues will go for a ruckman – We’ve already got McLaren, and Aisake O’Halipin looks very promising for the future. Better to use the high draft picks on midfielders or KP players.

Mostly likely….

1. Murphy (Carlton)
2. Ellis (Pies)
3. Hurn (Hawks)
4. Dowler or Ryder (Carlton)

Next most likely….

1. Murphy (Carlton)
2. Ellis (Pies)
3. Dowler (Hawks)
4. Hurn or Ryder (Carlton)

They can only take four. Campo is outside the normal playing list so therefore when he quits all it enables Carlton to do is gain an extra rookie spot.

We have 33 on the main list at the moment and two outside the main list in Kouta and Campo. Therefore its Picks 1,4,20,36 and McLaren.
