Hmmm... LG? Long gone, little gonads, lazy grins, limp gnomes... probably none of these... what are/is LG?

SwampStats Round 9

Cannot get those consecutive wins to catapult us into finals contention! Since round 3, we've gone W-L-W-L-W-L, and while next week against the Bombers isn't the time to break the sequence, we're not out of contention yet, only a game out of the 8.

This game was a struggle from bell to tape. We lost every quarter, despite some encouraging fight in the second and third terms. philreich and GotTheGoodes gave good drive from the midfield, LukeParkerno1 continued his outstanding season off half-back and jackster83 showed that Dingster is not irreplaceable with 5 goals from full-forward. Kirkswan had a great debut on and off field, but we need to get more from our other forwards.

Season stats, and it looks like philreich and SarahSmiles are taking the season by the scruff of the neck. B7F is a race in two, but LukeParkerno1 has great stats for a flanker, and sportsmaniac89 is having a good rucking season, despite his weekly differences with the sim

So this week, we have the Bombers, who are friendless at the foot of the ladder. Cheval returns to the Underground for my 150th game

Well done to LukeParkerno1 on yet another TOTW selection.
HB - LukeParkerno1 (Swamprats) - Probably the best small defender in the Sweet FA right now, he was dominant in the air, taking 11 marks to go with his 15 disposals and 2 tackles.
Having a great season.

SwampStats Round 10
I'm starting to think that the sim does not like us...this was a game we should have won, leading by 8 points at the final change, but we stayed in the bar and only managed a solitary behind to be over-run by 13 points. Encouragingly, our centreline and half-backs continued to star - Nunez with 28 touches and an amazing 14 marks, GotTheGoodes also with 28 disposals, and rickety, LukeParkerno1 and Obeanie1 giving plenty of drive. But again, we were impotent up forward, and the rotation policy will come into full effect this week.

Season stats sees philreich growing his reputation as a DT ****, while for the first time in awhile, LP#1 has a challenger for the Sticky Fingers award as Nunez edges closer.

We have the Las Vegas Bears this week, who have a great group of rookies plus the best poster in the comp in JoshWoodenSpoon. We remain only one win outside the 8, albeit in 11th spot, but with reasonable percentage, and some long-overdue luck will still see us feature in the major round. It's been great to see our rookies Kirkswan, Nunez and jackster83 getting involved in the match threads - keep it up!

No doubt JoshWoodenSpoon will up the anti for the Rats this week:

yours truly gather 39 handballs
Nunez lay 26 tackles
Fizzler keep his opponent to -3 goals
SarahSmiles accumulate 200 DT points by half time
etc etc.......

Nunez YOU FREAKIN BEAST!!

SwampStats Round 11

A WIN!!! 14 points behind at the half after a one goal quarter, things looked depressingly familiar. But we turned it on in the second half, sparked by the sim moving Quadzilla into ruck-rover and jackster83 to full forward where he booted 3 goals for the term, and we should have put the game away better, after dominating the opening half of the final term to lead by as much as 45 points. Kudos to our opponents, who came back hard but ran out of time as we got the chocolates by 14 points.

sportsmaniac89 was huge, his best game as a ruck yielding 16 hitouts and 30 disposals, whilst Quaddie turned the game with 20 possessions, 9 tackles and 3 goals, including a late sealer as the Bears came at us. Power Raid in his 150th club game, and edgie also booted 3 in an even performance up forward, while the sim decided to mess with our backline but failed to quell rickety and Firestarter

Season stats sees the race for the marking award contract closer, as Nunez makes a late charge, and a couple of challengers to rob Dingster of our prestigious leading goalkicker award The Groove as jackster83, edgie and Power Raid all sit on 14 goals, 10 behind with 6 rounds (+finals) to go

The result only lifted us up to 10th, but in a tight season, we are only a game behind 6th with competitive percentage and 6 games to go, as well as being a mere 2 games out of the top 4! We now need to embark on a winning streak to consolidate a finals berth early, starting with the Furies this week. We haven't won consecutive games all season, so odds should be in our favour
