i think our opponents are doing that aswell (underestimate his ability) and h's getting under everyone's guard and kicking afew goals.

Count me among those who is pleasantly surprised, nay thrilled with his form.
I can understand why so many people had doubts about him. To be as short and slight as he is is one 'handicap' he's had to overcome. The far bigger worry was with his disposal and poise with regards to decision making. A lightweight with poor football skills is an almost impossible double-combo to overcome, no matter how tenacious the player might be.
Happily, he's looked a lot more assured when he has the ball this year, and that makes all the difference. Last year we would have penciled in Krakouer or Leon to provide forward-line pressure and opportunist goals. We're currently going with Goldsack and Sinclair- you could have written your own ticket on that likelihood 12 months ago..

Does this thread really need to be bumped every week now? He's best 22 and is playing his role to a tee. We don't have a thread about any other youngsters that's bumped each week for posters to profess their man love for. So it doesn't make much sense to me....

Oh it doesn't annoy me, I was one of his most vehement defenders 8 weeks ago, but IMO the threads now irrelevant because all it is is a circle jerk for those that stuck by him to go ner ner ne ner ner to those that potted him, that's all....
That was what I liked as well,Watts thought he could intimidate him with his extra height and size but he stopped him right in his tracks showed he has plenty of ticker.
4 weeks ago a lot of opposition fans thought thought he was a dud hell a lot of our fans did as well
but he continues to prove everyone wrong,2 bags of 3 consecutive weeks he must be knocking on the door for a nomination.
I think those posts have died down now. It's more just a thread to give him praise and track his improvement. As I said, just rename it "The Ben Sinclair Appreciation Thread", similar to the one we had on Marty Clarke a few years ago, and there won't be a problem.
I like posting and reading the other posts in this thread. The positivity is great!

IIRC, we had 7 players off the rookie list in the 2010 GF, so Malthouse definitely did give them a chance, as a matter of interest so did the Saints have 7.
He seems to really get the side going at the start of matches with his 1%, plus he's kicking goals early and really having big first quarters. He did the same today, just like he did against Adelaide. Is one of the real improvers this season, and good on him for taking his game to another level.
