The kid just cannot get it together.

Look, I hope he can because it will make our side stronger but his kicking and decision making in the role he is playing is hurting us. Pressure can only keep you in the side for so long. He is on very thin ice.

Didak and Elliott are much needed because both would have finished off yesterday.

Didak yes.
Elliot....who?
Has he played a single senior game?

Nobody is saying the kid isnt trying his guts out, however his disposal is hurting us badly. Lets hope it improves over time.

The comparison with Reid is laughable. Reid was sent back to the VFL to develop his game and came back a star which is where Sinclair should improve his game.

I suppose with all our injuries we didnt have a choice but with players returning from injuries it will be hard for Sinclair to keep his spot purely on him applying pressure.

Elliott looked the goods in his first VFL game last week.

I know.:)
That's a bit short of being the automatic replacement for Sinclair though as is being touted.

He has yet to show anything in a senior game let alone on the vast stage of an ANZAC Day game.

Buckley's faith in the kid didn't win us the game (probably should have) but let's remember we won by a point and Sinclair kicked a few of them in the last term...
Surely you can't be serious.

BTW Seedsman had 7 tackles, so for a kid learning the game at the highest level, his pressure was ok too. Considering that's what Sinclair is currently selling his game on.

The main aspects of the game that Seedsman needs to improve upon are best honed at AFL tempo. The main aspect that Sinclair needs to improve upon can only arguably be improved upon at all by the time you're 20, and you can just as easily do this at the local park.

Neither has Sinclair though. We're not talking about replacing Dale Thomas here, but a player who had 0 tackles and 4 possessions in three quarters a couple of weeks ago... how long an apprenticeship does one have to serve before emulating such lofty standards? Elliott's debut last week was better than anything Sinclair has done at VFL level to date; if he backs it up this Saturday, get him in. He has class.

I think you know what I'm getting at.
Sinclair pots those two goals yesterday and then what?

Seedsmen gets dropped ahead of sinclair easily... Seedsmen had no opponent and was terrible. Id like to see sinclair get dropped, but i get the feeling bucks will give him a few more weeks. HOPEFULLY when he gets settled at afl level his kicking will improve... until then ill try not have a mental breakdown when he misses crucial shots

He had 9 tackles, and 23 pressure acts. Leading the team in both categories.

That right there, is why he is picked. He also had 4 score involvements, which isn't a great tally, but it's not bad in a low scoring game, where there were lots of scores from clearances.

Essendon would love to have Sinclair in their side, rather than a bloke that may kick 3 goals, but does so by hiding behind the goal post to get clear.

I ****ing hate that cat Davey.

Essendon already have enough quick pacy "stars".

and im not so sure.

sinclair has the opportunities but cant kick a goal.

davey has 3 opportunities and kicks them all. ... it's not like sinclairs tackles led to 3 direct goals... (btw can't stand either of the davey bros)

I have to say I really noticed what a squib Davey is yesterday, of all days.
I never realised before. Is he always such a coward on field?

Oh yes, front running squib of the higher order

ffs the last goal he stood inside 50, refusing to chase his man who was trying to make the play. Davey isn't close to ever playing in black and white. Ever.

I get why Bucks plays him, and he is certainly making more of an impact than Seedsman who just looks too weak at the moment to play AFL midfield. If it was Krakouer or even MacCaffer who had those opportunities yesterday we probably win by the right margin.
Like to think Ugle could replace him though. Damn Ugle could have sealed the game with a pretty simple goal but grubbed it.

Currently a good VFL player. Be a while before he is senior AFL grade.
I think he's unsure of himself and it doesn't help when a senior player like Jolly chastises him in front of 90,000 !! Not a good look Jolly. give the kid a break.

Sinclair's game against the bombers was his best for the year. It was a marked improvement on the first 4 games. And that alone is why he'll stay in the team. So long as he keeps improving, he'll probably keep playing. And for the record, I thought his last quarter was stellar.

Look at it from the kids side of things and the players he's surrounded with. We damn near went through last year undefeated and with less injuries and a coach who wasn't sulking we may damn well have taken the whole box and dice.

In that forward line who is he surrounded with? Cloke, Dawes, Dids, Krak permanent and Swan, Pendles, Daisy, Wellers and Jolly rotating through.

Some have said his decision making is poor well gee I wonder why?

Most in football call what Davey does 'cheating'.

You basically wait out the back in the vain hope a loose ball comes you're way so you can get a cheapie.

I've heard so many commentators call it cheating.

As to Sinclair. It's a very VERY frustrating situation because you can actually see why the kid is in the team, but much like Toovey, his disposal undoes aaaaaall the good work he does.

I've said for the last few weeks that he's basically the Toovey of our forward line. A kid who tries hard, does his job, but ruins it all with his disposal. Although Sinclair looks to have more actual ability as a footballer than Toovey. Which isn't saying much, but still.

you must be kidding about toovey's disposal?? sure, he looks ungainly but he is generally effective either by hand or foot

You can make a cup of tea from the time Tooves is ready to kick the footy and actually disposes of it. The amount of times an opponent can effect his kick caus it takes so long for the ball to get from hand to foot is incredible.

He, like Sinclair should handball to better users wherever possible.

Toovey disposal effiency isnt great but it is also only 3% lower then Dale Thomas over his career who would be classed as a good user of the ball and an elite player.

Last year Sinclairs effiency in his 4 games was actually very good. This year is has been very very sub standard and its also the fact that he is messing up and crucial stages of the game. He is currently my whipping boy but I will admit that if he can improve his disposal I will like this kid because he does try hard.
