Well, more than most players, he has two sides to him.

One is very good, the tackling, the pressure, the smothers and he does get his hands on it.

The other is his higher than normal rate of turnovers and missed targets.

It seems as he is getting more games and hence more confidence and experience, he is settling down quite a bit and the good things are steadily increasing and the bad things are steadily decreasing.

Very good signs overall and tonight he was a very important part of the win.

Well done Ben Sinclair.

Good game from Benny tonight. Watch for all the haters to still give it to him. The kid did a great job tonight. A couple of nice goals, a beautiful assist to Reid and some great 1%s as well. He's getting better with every game and definitely deserves a game before Ugle and even Fasolo at this stage. Seems that Faz is injured though. Keep up the good work Ben Sinclair.

He was good tonight, and he attacks the footy at every opportunity he gets. He will only get better and better.

I've read some very harsh comments directed at Sinclair the last couple of weeks, very unfair criticisms in my opinion. He hasn't been as bad as people have been making like he has.

It reminds me of the Toovey hate a few years back and look at where Toovey is now. A premiership player that gets a huge chant every time he touches the ball and is firmly in our best 22.

Good on Sinclair, I say! Who doesn't love an underdog?

I've been fairly harsh on him, but he did well tonight.
His 1%ers are definitely what's keeping him in the side and from tonight's game, it looks as though his nerves have settled a bit. Which should help in his decision making.

Sinner is an exciting little fella, reads the ball off heads real well, and throws himself around like a blonde haired rag doll.

Good on him for a good game tonight, I've felt his knockers were over the top of this season, so hopefully he keeps it up

Sincers answered a few of his critics tonight for sure, myself included.:thumbsu:

Didn't change my opinion of him tonight. Still did what he does well, and avoided having to do what he doesn't do well. In that, I suppose he has earned a pat on the back, but let's not go pretending he can kick yet.

Was sensational tonight, continues to improve every week.

Ahhh the red faces in this thread are a plenty, whilst those who have stuck by him get some sweet vindication tonight :)

Going back through the thread, I was glad to see that I had been relatively supportive of Ben, though I did say he was flawed. Channel 7 had a little highlights package of him at the end of the game. His awareness seemed non existent in one exchange, but otherwise the little fella really impressed tonight.

The OP deserves a pat on the back (Dezi?) for taking on the negativity and imploring people to reserve their judgement. Sinclair's goals, the goal assists and the 1%ers were memorable on a night when the bulldogs took the game right up to us.

I am a massive fan of sinkers but he his biggest weakness is his awareness
I am not sure you can coach that.

He had a good game tonight.

lmao, ****, he gets run down sneakily from a guy coming on from the bench and now it's his awareness not his kicking. Pendles was right next to him and didn't see the guy chasing him from behind either and thus didn't tell him he was hot, so that means Pendles has shit awareness?
Go out there and play the game deaf for yourselves before making comments that make you look silly in front of people who know what it's like, frustrating humans.
Also, what about the goal assist to Ben Reid, if he lacked awareness he would have had a shot.
Only thing I would say he lacks is the ability to stick a tackle, he is small and is brushed aside too easily, happened numerous times, but when he learns to grab the jumper he will be getting 10 tackles every game.
Has awesome pace.

Was better tonight, did some really nice things.

Only had the one disaster, when he was run down about 70 from goal when he had 500 free players around him.
IN fact it was Pendles who told him to go and even motioned for him to keep going, milliseconds before he was caught red handed.

Which can be attributed to pendlebury telling him to keep running, instead of hot as Ben got blind sided.

He had plenty of options and should have known to hit one up, but a senior player should be telling a less then 10 game player when he's hot imo

Kicking yes, awareness no.

Even the best can and do get blind sided and ran down

Yeah i should take that back. i was only thinking of that one incident.

However does anyone think he is too easily shrugged off in tackles.?

His kick to Reid was awesome and also the fact he was at the bottom of a lot of packs.

Of we improve his kicking we have a 200 gamer

I love the bloke.

I think Bruce or Dennis made a good call tonight, if dids did some of the things sinkers did tonight he would be a genius.

I went on record 2 weeks ago saying you guys should give him a chance, not saying I saw something you didn't, but I knew bucks saw something in him, I still don't think he's in our best 22, but hey, im more than happy to have him in the team, best part is he's only going to get better.

He was good tonight... dont jump on the bandwagon yet however or u will be sure to have egg on ur face when he does some simon buckley like turnovers with shanks, and misses crucial goals. Love his attitude however.

As always TRS, the words of wisdom.

He was OK. When he hits the ball at pace moving toward the goal, he looks good. Thought he was OK.

Yeah, I heard that comment too... but they're wrong. Dids would have kicked the goal. Check out the VFL highlights from last week.

Marley Williams did in a preseason game what Sinclair did last night, except he did it through a wall of players into space. The commentators called it a shanked kick.

Sinclair had a good game last night, for sure, but he achieved it by avoiding having to kick a drop punt for goal. He's not always going to get away with that as a forward. Still, kudos for playing to his strengths and continuing to show the desire that we all rate him on.
