If Buckley can turn around his finishing skills he can be a good player and add something to the team. He's got a bit of pace, bloody hard at it, good tackling, needs to add a bit of size but that will come.

Starting to see the reasons now why Hine drafted him and Bucks rates him, especially as Bucks seems to be pretty big on forward pressure. He does play with heart and spirit at the very least.

As a junior Jettas kicking was always a feature. As a junior Sinclairs wasn't. Sinclairs kicking has always been an issue. A better comparison with Jetta would be Yagmoor.

As a junior Jettas kicking was always a feature. As a junior Sinclairs wasn't. Sinclairs kicking has always been an issue. A better comparison with Jetta would be Yagmoor.

What? The Sinclair Jetta comparison? That seemed to revolve around Sinclair is/might be good coz Jetta kicked a lot of points at the start of his career hence don't write Sinclair off coz he could turn out the same. I'm suggesting (and I think its the first in the thread) that Jettas kicking was good as a junior where as Sinclairs wasn't. From this i'm not saying Sinclairs kicking can't come good, just the odds of it happening are pretty wishful. Given Sinclairs exposed form I don't think this position is that outlandish.

Let's also keep in mind the fact that Sinclair and Thomas were both low draft picks in an ordinary draft. Yet we insist on comparing these players with people like Jetta who probably went significantly higher in the draft because he is a better credentialed player at junior level.

When a player is drafted in the 60's or 70's, supporters should not have the expectations of them that they would of someone picked at 30 and higher. If Josh Thomas is meant to be such a great player, how come he was picked so low? Maybe we got what we paid for, a player who might have good skills but is forever injured. Similarly with pick 62 for Sinclair, we got someone who is significantly flawed in one or two aspects of the game.

Yeh,I know. It was me that made the first comparison, and yes solely in regard to Jetta's 19 straight points before his first goal in AFL.

His field kicking is not that bad.

I was referring to his missing a few running into goal.

The week before he kicked one and it was Swanny missing the, seemingly, easy one.

I was being slightly critical, not putting a line under his entire career.

All those saying Sinclair cant kick are a joke, in fact he has always been known through junior footy and Oakleigh days to have a great set of skills. The fact that the work ethic is there and he is a natural hard-nut suggests to me he can make it.

Okay, so he is struggling to take the next step, showing his skill on the big-stage. That will come with experience and confidence, everything else is there!

Well here is a joke, reported in a Sydney paper today, and I announce the winner, none other then a mr sinclair with a grand total of 9% accuracy at goal. I never see bucks smashing the phone or swearing in the box when sinclair has a shot on goal because I'm smashing my head against the wall.

He showed more than enough for me today. Even got a couple playing smart around goals, set up a goal earlier on (which had my heart in my mouth, that kick look destined to turn until Reid (?) collected it)

Also smothered the ball and put on great pressure. He is building confidence and his game is getting better. I know he still made some crucial decision errors, but so did a few others tonight...
