Hopefully everyone is too busy yelling & chanting to sing, but I guess some of the chants are a little like singing, especially the "GO BOMBERS GO BOMBERS" chant.:D

Richmond's famous (infamous?) Grog Squad have quite a repertoire of songs ranging from the very clever to the melodic, to the just plain terrible.

The Coburg Fitzroy Lions supporters were entertaining last year. Those Fitzroy supporters were great.

How wrong can you be?

Win, lose or draw, the Collingwood Cheer Squad now has a policy of singing the Club song at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter. It's our way of saying that we're with them no matter what. We sang it last week ... and it hurt like hell ... but we friggin' sang it. It wasn't very loud or passionate, because we'd been kicked in the guts by the on-field result ... but it was important to do.

A lot of our chants this year are musical. There are no Pavorotti's among us (except maybe in the waist-line department) but we are certainly having a go and, hopefully, doing our bit to change that apparent reluctance of Australian sporting crowds to actually try to hit a note.

It does seem to be a foreign concept, though. You've only got to go to an Ashes test and listen to the Barmy Army ... and then listen to that lame "Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie, Oy Oy Oy" chant to realise how far behind the rest of the world Australian fan culture is.

Having said that, I must say that the Richmond Grog Squad/Tiger Army/whatever makes some pretty impressive sounds up the Punt Road End. I'm sure the reverb that they get from the concrete roof above them helps a lot. It can make a few dozen people sound like a thousand-strong mob.

Please ... Everyone ... Sing! Sing! Sing!

I love singin at the footy. Piespremiers, Carlton win was a very sweet victory and i loved every minute of it and it was definatly a laugh watching all those carlton ppl leaving towards the end.

The grogsquad, LOL, after they beat collingwood in rd 4 we were walking up to leave and one of the girls in it started dancing in this pies supporters face so this lady dropped her bag and punched her a good one in the face and IT WAS ON! thought id let ya know:D They r a loud bunch though.

Must admit, at todays game, there were a bunch of Geelong supporters, sitting behind the Hawthorn Cheer Squad, and they had one chant that i must admit i found wuite amusing!

GIVE ME A
C
U
N
T
WHAT DOES IT SPELL?
CU NT
GEELONG *CLAP CLAP CLAP*

The CU NT thing had nothing to do with anything but it was bloody hilarious!

In the SANFL Centrals are famous for their singing (also unfortunately for their rioting) after all our fans are mostly British migrants. During the 1996 SANFL Grand Final the singing started and the entire Central contigent at the match, around 20,000 +, joined in. Sounded like an FA Cup Final.

I went to the GF last year and it was very much like a soccer game, with the slow chants and flares and the like.

An annoying eagles supporter that I went with was suitably impressed.

As good as last years SANFL Grand Final atmosphere was it was tepid compared to the 95 and 96 ones :-) We had no real opposition in the crowd as out of 35,000 at least 25,000 were Centrals. I'd say that in 95 and 96 the crowd was split 50-50 between Centrals and Port and the crowds were in excess of 45,000.

Standing under a 15 foot Union Jack Flag, with another 10 foot Welsh Flag about 10 metres away, and singing a rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' with about 2000 other drunk Desi's was the highlight of the 1995 G-F. The game itself sucked!!

In 1996 the 'Ceeeeeennntraaaalllllllssss' chant was awesome. Dave MacKay and Steven Trigg even turned around in the TV box during the pre-match commentary of the game and looked at what the noise was. Again, the game sucked :-)

did u get in emma? through a few yourself? i have heard u through a good punch! ;)

AT the 15 minute of the last quarter of the Lions v Essendon match last week, the whole crowd in the Northern stand started singing the club song, started at the Western end and everyone joined in, it was terrific. I hope they do it next week.

i recall a game last year i think it was, round 22, coll V norf, we had given them a bath all day, as we did every year in round 22, anyway, at about the 20 min mark of the last quarter, our song was being sung all over the ground! it was fantastic!

Stegelator, we'll continue this conversation monday night ok? after the pies get up! with or without the best player in the league, and our skipper Bucks. dont be surprised if he plays!
Bucks is capable of getting 60 possessions in a game, and kicking 12! you havent seen his best yet!
AND mate, if west coast arent lame, i'd love to know what is! we have been bad the last few years, i can admit that, and it hurts, but its the truth, and all our supporters have stuck with us, but thats just the character of the club! BUT have you seen west coast play this year, or even the last 4 weeks? honestly, they are in big trouble, the state is in big trouble! Freo are poor, and i think west coast are worse! Freo really havent been belted this year, west coast get done every week! by huge margins! over the last 4 weeks, there percentage has been less than 47... 46.4 for memory.. but dont qoute me on that mate... i have checked the stats!
and for my 5th mistake, sorry buddy, i should have looked up the stats for this one! instead of making such an outragous comments!! 7,000 to many! how ridiculous! i apologise!
