Round 23 is Suns v Giants, and if neither team is close to finals, will be on Sunday.

You are right. I forgot that they base it around finals contenders. In that case I guess it is highly likely it will be played on a Sunday afternoon.

It was announced today that the Titans are moving one of their home games from the Gold Coast to Darwin. It'll be played on July 6 which coincides with QClash6 in Brisbane. It should also mean the Broncos won't be playing in Brisbane that weekend which will also help the QClash. That now means the Suns will play 11 games on the Gold Coast next year and the Titans will also play 11 games on the Gold Coast.

Also the NRL draw gets released tomorrow so I'll update the 2013 list of games when it comes out.

The list for 2013 has now been updated (post #256 on page 11). The Suns and Titans will go head to head on the same day in July when the Suns take on Carlton while the Titans take on the Rabbitohs. They also play on the same weekend once through the season when the Suns host QClash against the Lions while the following day the Titans will play the Eels.

Not great scheduling by the NRL for when they do clash (I would expect both Suns games to outdraw the Titans games) but at least now it is obvious they have made an effort to avoid clashes. Good for the city and good for both teams.

Not really. There are many times Broncos and Titans both have played at home or away in the same weekend.

The Broncos are playing away that weekend so hopefully that means a big crowd for QClash6 at the Gabba.

The Titans are also playing an away game against the Rabbitohs in Cairns next year.

Will be good to see who draws a bigger crowd, the AFL or NRL.

Rabbitohs vs Titans on June 16 @ Barlow Park.

Tigers vs Suns on July 13 @ Cazaly's Stadium.

AFL has the whole weekend to themselves with the Reds having a bye on the week of QClash.

Thought some people on here would be interested to learn the difference in membership numbers between the Suns and Titans. So here it is:

2011 Suns (17th) - 14,064
2011 Titans (16th) - 8,560

2012 Suns (17th) - 11,204
2012 Titans (11th) - 6,674

2013 Suns - 8,690
2013 Titans - 6,215

Make of it what you will. I think with a decent amount of early season wins the Suns should definitely break the 15k members mark for the first time. Also, staying on the topic of this thread, I think there will be about 7k at Metricon tomorrow for the Hawthorn/Brisbane games.

On tv the crowd looked pretty decent, behind both goals and one of the stands had a lot of people
I wasn't there so I can't say it wasn't right but the stadium holds 25,000 so almost 8000 (7847) would mean it was a third full. Can anyone that was there give an indication of whether this would be correct as it looked a long way off that number

Really, looked like 1500 at most
Again, I think the stadium is really deceiving. The bottom tier was essentially full the whole way around which I think is around 5k seats. Then you have certain sections of the second tier around 50% full so another 2-3k in the second tier isn't really that hard to believe. Given the fact that there were over 2k people lining up outside I would say some of them would have been standing for at least the first half of the first game.

We got our tickets around 6:20ish, and the line had pretty much tripled since we lined up (first off the bus!).

As Matchu said, the bottom tier was pretty much full. then 3 sections along the eastern wing were about 3/4 full by the start of the first match.

By about the end of the first match, the 3 sections along the wing were opened up 1 on either side and started filling up. Also sections 222-226 were opened around that time too.

I'd say 8000 was a pretty accurate attendance, in comparison to some of the figures from last season...

Good turn out though!

12,267 at the Titans v Raiders game last weekend. Should be interesting to see how many they get today against Manly. Surely the Suns will get more than 12,267 to the game against the Saints next weekend.
