I was actually pretty impressed with him tonight. Granted, Tredders is a shadow of his former self but he's still had a few decent games in the second half of the year.

I'd almost forgotten how good Haddrill is at getting that fist in to spoil even when he looks out of the contest.

I'd love to see him given another year. I don't want to become a habitual Macca basher, but surely keeping Haddrill on the list instead of him offers more value considering our lack of big bodied defenders.

Well done Mr Haddrill. Always had faith in you son.
Hope you stay on next year.
A full pre season should do the trick and our true full back man is back!

Gave Tredrea a bath tonight, hes back.

And Byron Schammer if you dont mind son, sending a clear message to harvs. "Mark i'm a midfielder".
And one more thing, Ryan Murphy the CHB. I like it.

Agree on Schammer let him run through the corridor, and Mr Murphy its about time Harvey gave him an ear bashing lets hope he stays and shows the same intensity in our Foward line.
Also well done to Crowley Foster Obrien Dunn and Browne for stepping up tonight.

I agree. Hope they see the sense in holding onto him, but I doubt they will.

We need a fullback. If we cannot recruit one it makes sense to hang on to him.

Is anyone else concerned at how injury prone Roberto seemingly is?

Not concerned enough to think we should cut him loose, one year if he gets hurt again than its over.

Haddrill's future depends on Murphy to a certain extent. I reckon we need to take 4 kids in the draft, plus we need a spot for Foster meaning 5 players + Parker need to be cut.

Walker's one.
Cook's two.
I'm a fan of Browne but don't think he showed enough yesterday, that's three.
Then it gets tough. Bell and Longmuir are contracted so will be on the list next year regardless of whether they are available for selection or not.
Murphy will hopefully be traded for a first round pick, freeing up another spot on the list.
I'd consider delisting Mourish and redrafting him onto the rookie list. Foster >>>> Mourish.
If Murphy and Hasleby stay at Fremantle we may have to choose between Haddrill and Webster, Webster's name will probably be thrown around at trade time but I doubt there will be much interest. Hagger's reckons that Duffield is exploring his options due to a lack of opportunity.

I think if Bell retires, dom, we can still draft a guy to take his place on the list... but his salary is still counted in the TPP. That's what will make things tight - the $$$.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Bell will be on the list but we'll be able to put him on the long term injury list and promote a rookie. They often mention that Michael Voss is still an AFL listed player. I hope you're right though. That would mean that if J-Lo pulls the pin before our final list lodging (just before the draft?) and if Bell retires we'd have two extra spots to either give Haddrill/Browne another year or take 2 more kids in the draft.

dom, I'm pretty sure that we can remove Bell from the list if he retires. I would imagine the problem at Brisbane was more due to needing to have a full list (I think this is now mandatory) but not having room in the cap to actually pay another player, so they were forced to keep Voss on the list.

I seriously don't think Browne has what it takes to make it at AFL level. He cuts it up at the WAFL, but struggles at AFL level. Doesn't rack up the possessions, gets caught a fair bit, makes dumb decisions and doesn't execute his disposals particularly well. Too good for WAFL, but not good enough for AFL, unfortunately.

Yeah you're right. What really hurt him is that he looked a million dollars pre-season and NAB Cup, then struggled when the real stuff started.

I seriously agree I.P. Brownie was the biggest disappointment for me against Port.

For a bloke that has been in the system seven seasons now and was carving it up at WAFL level , He simply was not good enough on Saturday night.

I can't disagree with you more on this ImpP. He had an ordinary game against Port granted. But before his hamstrings went in rnd 3 or whenever it looked like he was going to have his break out year. His pre-season and first 2 games were solid. Showed grit, pace and reasonable disposal (he had better than average accuracy per disposal according to SC stats) in the midfield and as a fflanker - all qualities we need.

I think his body needs to show proof of being up to it, and in this regard I think he's on super thin ice - but in pure ability, he's AFL quality for sure.

On Hadrill .... was really pleased with his night. He's got skills and a good size body to take big forwards, but his real quality is ability to read play and do the most favorable thing before the ball arrives. He's not simply a solid 'reactionary' defender like most. Got to give him one more year and see if he can get and stay fit. Would prove valuable as a back up at the very least.

Robbie Hadrill had a very good game last night keeping Tredrea goal less not much more you can ask

Agree with you on Hadrill but not Browne. I remember a WAFL GF a couple of year ago when He was in top form in the WAFL but was a disappointment in the GF.

A WAFL GF is probably as close to a H&A AFL game as you can get and He came up short there as well.

He can play , but so can most blokes who are drafted.

He is another Jaxon Crabb.

Granted, but I suppose I'm comparing his couple of games at the start of the year with other rookies who have made their debut. In this sense right up there behind only Foster. I suppose I'm cutting him too much slack because he isn't a rookie and he has been in the system some years now. Seeing Brocky's performance yesterday kind of squeezes out Browne too, though I still think Browne is the more skilled player when it comes to delivery.

Don't get me wrong, I still think the club would be in their right mind to drop him, I just think he's got more ability (even at AFL level) than we've been given opportunity to see.
