The ball bounced! Doesn’t that mean play on? The play is over. It shouldn’t count!

That's what you would think but that is not the case. It's like a kick to the goal square that gets rushed through after the siren.

There’s no difference between a ball in the air and a ball on the ground (aside from the obvious physical difference). As soon as the player kicks it, it’s in play, and as soon as it comes to rest, gets taken by another player, or crosses the boundary/goal line, the quarter is called.

I was on a halftime=fulltime double several years ago, needed North to be up at HT against the Cats iirc, 1 second left and a Geelong player kicks it, siren goes, bouncing bouncing........................

Not quite. If it is touched and goes through it is a point.

If an attacker forces it through with a punch it is not a point.

It's a bit complicated, CBF finding the actual rule, but basically defenders need to stop the ballmomentum tiward the goal. FFS * off these ads I cant see what I am typing
