I'm dead last again.

Picking the opposite of winning is as hard as picking winning.

I'm claiming I'm in the joint lead.
You get the #1 pick in the draft though...

Game on Viceregal!!! I reckon I've got you covered cause lohman it's building confidence and due for a three goal haul against Geelong

Whereas the young bull Levi is exhausted from his debut season. Poor thing. And while he will be valient and worthy of our deepest respect he just won't have the leg to finish his sole oppotunity from 50 and will shank the ball into the post.

And I'll lose ...... cue evil laughter.

It might be late and i might need sleep but right now this makes sense in my head. Which admittedly is a low bar.
I typed out a really long reply then my phone ate it 😭

Win win for me if Kai nails or fails

Section 5 Agree with the idea that the last two players could be picked before the last two games (if it's not too much work). Maybe 5 weeks would work better in length as people would have to make a choice what forwards to leave out. Out there idea, mandate that we need to pick a defender in the 5 or 6 players? This would increase the permeations.

My recent thoughts are to allow double ups in the 6 and 7th round that takes us to the end of the H & A games.
However, reducing it to 6 with the option of one double up, is a very good option too. So, between your 5 and the present 7.
Posters don't have to double up, but the option is there for those last 1 or 2 rounds.
Double ups would just entail that the players score is added twice for that round.
Let's say Hippy is the double up player using example B below and we are playing R 23, and he scores 1.4
For round 23 you get 1.4 + 1.4 + the other 4 players scores

Example A 7R: (R18) Cameron (19) Hipwood (20) Ah-Chee (21) Morris (22) Rayner/ (23) Morris (24) Cameron
Example B 6R: (R18) Ah Chee, (19) Lohmann. (20) Hipwood, (21) Bailey, (22) Morris/ (23) Hipwood.

Another thought was to choose an opposition player for the last one/two rounds but prefer to keep it to Lions players
I also thought about a defender list but that's unlikely to break a deadlock

Bolded: Yes, it would be too much work for my aging brain.
I prefer for posters to select all, and then i don't have to chase up anyone.
Everything i do is manual and it does take some time especially as the rounds increase.
Humans doing things manually can lead to mistakes. I do cross check everything and again when i enter the scores.
Thats why i put up the goal and point scorers each round so posters can check I entered and added their score correctly.

I think i would have to be a coder to work out if there is a simpler way.
Even a simple excel (and i need simple) won't add the goals and behinds correctly for what i need.
Excel converts to the correct number as it should. Like 0.9 + 0.2 =1.1 Whereas i need it to be 0.11
I am actually glad the comp did not get to the 30 maximum this first time.

Congratulations to our winner MSB ROYS on 38.21
As i mentioned in the rules i can't issue a badge that is up to others to decide.

Four ended up on 36+ being Section 5 uzabuz Nuggo Dalions

Gadzorks hung on to claim a fictional pick 1 and the spoon. The only one not make it to 30goals
Winning over the Cats last night should help them get over the disappointment.

Section 5 I was awarded a boot trophy! Straight to the poolroom along with the tipping trophies LOL.
Thats great as it was not a given at the start of the comp.

Tomorrow i will open up the next one a week after the knockout comp restarts tonight.
I have made two changes.

Off to the game now. Hopefully Rayner can get me through the knockout comp tonight.

I will start the next competition on this Carlton Round 18 game. It's on this Thursday evening so only 4 days away
This notice is to all those that gave it a try the very first time, so thanks for that

I have made 2 changes (Edit now 3) to hopefully make it closer.
Those changes will be in my next post, so you guys and gals don't have to reread the revised rules on page 1 of this thread.

CHANGES FROM FIRST COMPETITION:

Reduced to 6 rounds so only 6 players nominated.
Round 23 only: You can double up on an already selected player, but you don’t have to

I will accept EDITS to your original post up until 7pm Wednesday 9th July.

This goal kicking competition is open to the first 25 Lions only Big Footy posters.
I will consider going to 30 if the response is good but no more.
The full rules are on page 1 of this thread, but these are the basics
...................................................................................

You choose 6 Lions player.
The order is important as they only come into calculation when that round is underway.

EXAMPLE:

First round you only score your first named player.
Second round your first 2 named players.
Third round the first three named and so on till the last round being R23 v Freemantle.

Posters player selection format, example only:

Example (A) ................................ (R18) Hipwood, (19) Cameron, (20) Morris, (21) Bailey, (22) Ah-Chee, (23) Lohmann

Example (B) Double up R23 player (R18) Hipwood, (19) Cameron, (20) Morris, (21) Bailey, (22) Ah-Chee, (23) Morris

Please use the above format (including being horizontal).
This will help me in doing a copy/past and record your selections correctly.

Once you select your 6 players you can't change them.
However, i will accept EDITS to your original post up until 7pm Wednesday 9th July. The team will be announced by then and everyone should start on an equal footing with a player at least named in the side to play Carlton.

Please use correct surnames. No nicknames. If an Ashcroft, use Will Ashcroft or Levi Ashcroft

I will enter the players/posters team in the order i receive them. That's why edits are to be made to the original post.

I did not expect posters to go this early as everyone waited for the team announcements last time.

As such i have made a slight change to the rules to allow some flexibility before the comps first game v Carlton.
Evolving as we go so to speak.

This also means posters can get in early to ensure they make the final list should that end up happening.

Posters can now EDIT their 6 players (from original post) up till 7pm Wednesday 9th July. Team should be announced by then.

It's important that any edits are made to the original post.

I will start a copy/past from 7pm Wednesday in the order of post made starting with rye being the first entry.

Remember you can double up a player in round 23 if you want to.

In the mix

With a five-day turnaround to face Carlton on Thursday night after beating Port Adelaide, Oscar McInerney comes into the frame to replace reliable Darcy Fort. McInerney was held out of the VFL at the weekend to keep the option open of playing him against the Blues. Keidean Coleman has been cleared to play after recovering from a quad injury, as has Henry Smith (foot), although both will likely return through the VFL. James Tunstill, Deven Robertson and Bruce Reville continued to play well in the reserves and are never far away from the 23. – Michael Whiting
