And we are still pea-hearted, unskilled and non-committal.

I don't see a dramatic turn happening, we're just terrible.

That high altitude chamber is really paying for itself.

Maybe they just smoke cones in there.
Drinking piss and smoking cones with Garry Lyon?

The really sad thing is that I'm barely even angry - it's just so expected from this club. I remember when I thought we'd hit rock bottom, circa 2008...
Now I know how my Dad feels after 40+ years of putting up with this shit. I'm so close to being over it. Call me when Auskick coaches teach them some skills.

Thing is we half had hope then, with Judas, Trengove, Jurrah, Watts, Blease, Wonna, Sylvia to break out...

No bloody hope at all at the moment. Things will look up when we finally get rid of Cale Morton.

The truth of it is, if you and I performed to these standards in our jobs we'd be sacked, and rightly so.These clowns will continue to live the dream without giving two stuffs about the club or us,the long suffering supporters.

I've said it before on this Forum, and I'll say it again, I have never seen a worse side play for the MFC in my 38 years. The skill level of this team is deplorable. Half hearted efforts, zero structure and a midfield that is seriously laughable.

I know some people around here are thinking things will turn around quickly after the next draft, but they need to wake up. We have too many imposters on our list like Petterd, Dunn and Bail who promised a lot but will never deliver. I never want to see Spencer playing again. I don't care for what club. I just never want to see him again. Ever! Martin and Garland need to take that next step, but I'm not sure they will. None of our backmen can hit a target. Not one of them. Besides Tommy Mc, Grimes, Frawley and Jones, I would seriously consider a trade for everyone else who played tonight. The last 5 years have been a total embarrasment, from drafting to player development. How much more of this shit can we seriously take as a supporter base?

I support because the MFC because of my Grandad. But even he saw a Melbourne premiership. I'm only 22 and I've seen us play in some great finals series, even make a grand final, but we've never been a dominant force. The last 5-6 years have been tough, really tough.

It's only a theory but I think we'd be ok if we had somewhere near half a team who could kick a ball within 20 metres of their target.
See, I don't understand how this happens. I know there is another thread on exactly this, but it is simply flabbergasting that we seem to have a team full of AFL footballers that can't freaking kick! What the hell is the point of the game if it isn't kicking a ball around to score goals, by kicking??

How long to the MFC expect people to keep rocking up to games and buying memberships to watch a team full of guys that kick like a schoolboy side. Even Derm mentioned tonight, "16 year-olds can kick that" when Blease couldn't manage to make the distance from 40m out. Now I know it might have been hot (pfft, harden the fk up, what conditions do you think people from QLD/NT play in every day), but Port players were playing in the same conditions. Ricky Petterd finally gets given a go and then completely sprays his first set shot. He did the same thing last week at the dome. Was it too humid in the dome as well? Or was it the "wind from the gates behind the goals" that Richo referred to when someone missed a shot in the Bulldogs game tonight? KICK YOUR flipping GOALS OR G&GF

Mark Neeld is worse then Dean Bailey.

Unbelievably sad, but true.
Neither Neeld nor Bailey are responsible. The club is a shambles from top to bottom, especially the list. The best coach in the universe could walk in and the team would still be putrid, you can't just wave a magic wand and turn shit into gold.

I'm losing passion for this club by the week, it's hard to put up with this crap. That game was one of the worst displays of footy I have ever seen, and I reckon I have seen every game we have played over the last 6 shithouse seasons.

I do.

It come with a brutal, merciless culling of completely irrelevant, inconsequential, zero-impact people (I say people, because players would be too generous) like Dunn, Jetta , MacDonald and probably 5 or 6 others.

Also, a critical review of players like Frawley who have just been barely adequate this year, but seem to have been rubbish in these sorts of games. The handful that we might have won...

I looked for an "Unwatch Game" button on this page that I could press, but my search was in vain :(

Last night was embarrassing to the point of being seriously comical. And there are about another half-dozen games this year which have been equally bad, albeit without producing the same level of comic farce as we saw in this one.

But of course, our passion for this club is about far more than just the team itself or the playing group - which is of course why our membership has held up as well as it has, and why our crowds have been so high at the 'G this year, regardless of the results. WE are the club.

Besides that, I'm certainly convinced that with Jamar and Mitch in the lineup, we would've won this handily. Not to mention Sellar, Jordie, the 'Cane, Watts, and at least some others.

Prior to this match, we had SIXTEEN players in our squad on the injury list.

And of course, the off-field part of the club is doing as well as it's ever been, so certainly I wouldn't agree with such comments about the club as a whole.

But you're entirely right that it's looking like a relatively slow and arduous road for us in improving our team, especially as far as us being serious contenders again. I firmly believe next year will at least be substantially better than this year though, and we will get there in the end.

Injuries don't help, sure, but the poor level of skill execution by most of the players on the night can't really be defended by injuries. The fit blokes who are out playing should be able to hit targets much more often. They also should make better decisions when under little pressure and give a lot more of a shit about how they're playing, especially guys like Jetta and Petterd who may be leaving at the end of the season.

I have only watched the first quarter but Jetta was good from what I saw. Did he fade out of the game?

The last six years summed up, for me, with this:

"When it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, is just a freight train coming your way."

Having watched this club since about 72 I can confirm that statistically we have had worse years but during that time we really were not good (except R.Flower )but did have a real go.Hell I went to 19 of the 22 rounds in 1981 and missed the only win but at least you could see ordinary players have a real hard crack. This season I'm not so sure......
