I'm not loving the lack of news on Shuey. Did he do another hammy or was it a calf? Any idea on when he'll be back? Is he just cooked for good?

S and C's new strategy is a time heist Avengers Endgame style.

During this daring raid they will recover:

Shuey's Hammys from 2018
Allen's Foot from mid 2021
Kennedy's Legs from 2015
Darling's balls from early 2018
and
Rioli's Gaterade from 2019.

Godspeed S and C!

I think Simmo mentioned a couple of weeks back that it was a standard 2-3 week minor hammy, but considering his injury history they’ll add another one or two weeks onto his recovery time.

It’s been four weeks now since the injury so hopefully we get some good news soon.

Shuey pinged a hammy in 2018 in the game against Port at home. They need to go back to 2017!

I heard it was a 5 weeker, which really means 7 to 8 weeks.

I think shuey's done tbh. Keeps getting too many soft tissue injuries.

That's good news.

I haven't seen anything about it other than he's being sent for scans

Petrevski-Seton, who arrived from Carlton during the trade period, hurt his left knee after being crunched in a marking contest in Friday night’s intra-club hit-out in Lathlain.
The Halls Creek product, who turned 24 on Saturday, will require scans. The club said no update would be available until Monday, but it’s understood medicos anticipated a medial ligament injury which can range in severity from a few weeks to several months depending on the grade.

It would be absolutely devastating if it were to be an ACL, hopefully the medicos are correct in their thinking.

fu** me. We haven't had a good run with injury since 2018.

Hopefully they've learned after 3 years not to rush in underdone players back in the team but im not holding my breath.
We didn't have an amazing run with injury in 2018 either:
- Darling missed quite a few weeks with an ankle injury after rnd 11
-Kennedy missed several weeks with a leg fracture through the season (we played Essendon and Adelaide without either JK and JD and struggled to score big time)
-Shuey had hamstring issues around the middle of the year
- Nic Nat did his second Knee and Shep did that hammy in the first final

If your team has depth, it can cope with injuries provided they don't hit one area at once (eg losing your three or four best mids). One other thing that Footy teams aren't great at is taking the time to get players fit before playing them again. Look at us last year, Yeo/Shuey/Kelly came back from injuries but never seemed to hit high fitness levels and didn't perform.

The coaching obviously have (had?) zero faith in the depth players for the midfield. It's been a concern for a while. I'm still convinced Priddis was rushed back to the side before properly getting over his back issue and that was contributory to his retirement.

I'm trying to keep updated with our injuries but it gets hard with pre season on how our players are going.

Could someone please let us know who's injured at the moment since Eagles website and our media are hopeless and never report much about it. I only just heard Clark is injuried. If so how bad. Some updates from the club would be nice.

Updated to include rough timeframes.
  • Shuey - Hamstring (1-2 weeks)
  • Petrevski-Seton - Knee (2-3 weeks)
  • Clark - Shoulder (8-10 weeks)
  • Allen - Foot (2 more weeks in a moonboot)
  • Cripps - Pectoral (out until early rounds of season)
  • Rioli - Hamstring? (unknown timeframe)
  • Darling - Brain (unknown)
  • Ledwards - Knee (unknown)
  • Duggan - Knee (unknown)
  • Trew - ?

Would be really nice if the club could give us some actual info, seeing as we're only three days from the first pre-season hitout.

So much for updating it in the first week of the calendar year.

Ledwards, Duggan and Rioli are back at training. So not sure if you classify them as injured still or not.
