Pick 78 - Richmond: Oleg Markov – SF (188 cm, 75 kg, North Adelaide)

After missing last year with two bouts of a broken collarbone, Markov has come back this year and really put his name in front of recruiters. A very athletic medium forward who can push up the field, he's got an excellent leap and makes things happen.

Glad to hear that your on the mend. I do rate your observations and thoughts on draft prospects and thanks for all the hard work you do. Might be jumping the gun here but due to more or less knowing who we were going with I have been looking forward to next year all ready. Is there any names that you could give in relation to players that are outside mids/have elite speed/kicking skills (not requiring all those parts) that will be up the pointy end? Looking at our list I personally feel this will be what we need. Understand that we have Allison coming through but I feel he will go late first round/early second round giving us another go with an early pick. Once again thanks for all your hard work.

Skippos How surprised were you by how far Rhys slid in the draft?

You had him at:

Pick 23 – Carlton: Rhys Mathieson – IM (186 cm, 82 kg, Geelong Falcons)

I'm going to go against the grain here with Mathieson; I don't think he'll slide into the late 20s as some have it. He's just too good. I think he's a top 10 talent. He lacks a bit of polish and class, but he's a scrappy ball winner who's excelled at every level; why not AFL? Not every elite inside midfielder has an aesthetically pleasing style. Carlton need some inside dominance with their poor brigade, and Mathieson is a perfect fit.

I have Mutch at 22, Setterfield at 23 and Zac Sproule at 26 for the other GWS academy boys. There is also two other who i dont think are on the radar yet but will be soon.
