Should a Nord join the Imperial Legion or Stormcloak Rebellion?

What makes more sense and why? Having trouble choosing.

Came on here to post exactly the same question.

Do either side have certain benefits? Like I read that Imperials will leave more valuables that are expensive.

I think it's a matter of choice, who you think is in the right in this story.

My race is imperial so I dare say I'd be silly not to join. Also I was in a storm cloak camp and an imperial courier got slaughtered. Not cool stormcloaks!

Yes ive done that quest, really weird isn't it.

Yeah I went Imperial too, think I'll join them because I'm in Solitude right now.

Also gives me a reason to kill Stormcloak soldiers (I kill them anyway though) but maybe when I'm stronger I'll kill Imperial's too. I prefer to be lone wolf and kill everyone that pisses me off or taunts me (like the guards).

Is there a point buying the house in whiterun? I would lie the solitude mansion but it's 25k. Will I be able to afford both at some stage?

further to this, is it like morrowind where you can kill the occupant and use the house with no repurcussions?

Can easily afford both if you work hard enough. I have about 60,000 already and am only level 22. Done only 1 or 2 main quest missions and have already got the house in whiterun.

The pelagius quest was very random, I just guessed everything I had no idea what he was saying or why what I did eventually worked i just wanted to be done with it.

Yeah I thought it was like Runescape, where they transport you randomnly to a different dimension and make you do minigames for prizes.

LOL! just finished a 7 hour stint, flicked to tv and..bam..bugs bunny..anyway, nice way to unwind.

Yeah missus away for the weekend, From level 12 to level 20, My smithing is level 70, defeated wolf queen (I think) which was amazingly hard, made myself some very nice glass armour with a matching glass bow. A productive day yesterday! Looked at the map and there's so much more to see.

I'm not sure if I want to join the imperials or stormcloaks, i get the douchebag vibe from both.

Before I started, I promised myself I was going to use heavy armour. I have always used light armour, and wanted to give heavy a go. I started off ok, but then came the dark brotherhood quest. Just like in Oblivion, I can never seen to let it go It's just too good for the sort of stuff I do. Pisses me off though.

Finding killing dragons very, very easy now. Just use mark of death shout and go to town on them with my axe.

I think I have also gone a different way to most of you guys. Every quest you talk about I have no idea what the hell it is Level 31 now. The levelling system in this is a vast improvement on Oblivion.

i do enjoy not having to play that stupid speech circle game. i'm a little confused by the perks thing, is it just one per level?

sneaking around with an enchanted poisoned bow is still as good as ever. in fact so far the dungeons are much better than oblivion. i also like that the music sounds like it could be a morrowind outtake.

Where do you find the material to get your smithing so high?

If anyone wants to know where they can learn another shout, go to Lost Valley Redoubt.

"The Lost Valley Redoubt is located about halfway between Markarth and Falkreath.

You will encounter Forsworn here. In the camps there are various chests. At the very top, you will find a Word Wall that is guarded by two Hagravens. The Word Wall contains one of the words for Become Ethereal."


But there are two Hargravens, and they end up raising an undead Forsworn so you have to fight all 3. Currently level 14 with a companion and got my ass handed to me.

O kept making iron daggers, one iron and one leather strip. I went from blacksmith to blacksmith buying and making them. The Whiterun has 2 people able to sell stuff so that was handy.

What's it like? does it compare to Zelda at all?

I'm thinking about getting it but i've recently bought MW3, BF3, FIFA 12, MK, NBA 2K12, NHL 12 and Batman Akram City and have only played MW3 and FIFA 12 a decent amount with the rest just gathering dust.

Poor Lydia, who had been by my side while killing a few Dragons got killed by a single Redguard while we were walking along a river East of Markarth. After killing the Redguard I had a look around for my horse but couldn't see it. So I started running North along the river and after a while I came to accept that maybe the horse had been killed as well in the same fight.
I continued head North to my destination when I finally see my horse off in the distance, I start running towards it only to see it start running off in the other direction then all of a sudden go straight up in the air, I then watched it fly off over my head into the distance.
Although I did find my horse again later at a stable waiting for me.

If anyone hasn't done it yet then I suggest you go and do the Thieves Guild quest line, extremely rewarding also having a little twist towards the end, items received through this quest are awesome.

Nice. Did you buy your horse? Somehow I got one for free, everytime I fast travel to a place (that's not a city) it just appears and I never bought it.

Haha yeah I remember I met one at level 4, and luckily I saved just before the encounter. Tried about 5 times trying to kill it, gave up and decided to sneak around it. That didn't work lol. Now 10 levels later, met another one and pwned it.

The Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild are completely different, and you can join both, as well as the Companions.

Anyone else hate Windhelm? It's such a shit hole. I hate going there.

What's it like? does it compare to Zelda at all?

I have no idea about Zelda, but Skyrim for 360 is averaging 96 on Metacritic (equal second best for 360, behind GTA IV), with more reviews (72 vs 43) compared to Zelda's 95 average, so that's probably a good indication that it's at least as good, if not better.

As you get past level 10 or so there should be a heap as you wander around, a couple of inn keepers have rumors/bounty quests that show locations of where Dragons live. Usually marked on the map with a dragon icon and you learn a word from most locations.
