What's the thoughts on the guy who he's taking on tour with him; Myles Kennedy?

I'm a really big fan of him so my thoughts basically consist of :D:D:D:D

I haven't heard his new album but Slash is a phenomenally gifted guitarist - some of the stuff he's done outside Gunners is very sweet indeed.

I'm looking forward to seeing him perform with Angry Anderson on Wednesday night :D (the Duck is supposed to be in attendance too).

His tone and phrasing is pretty damned fine...

I haven't heard the new album but a number of songs got an airing last night when Slash performed at the MTV Classic launch and they sounded pretty good.

It was the second ever live show by Slash's touring band and he's assembled a crack squad of musicians. The singer Myles Kennedy (previously of Creed and Alter Bridge) carried off the old Gunners songs Civil War, Sweet Child o Mine and Paradise City with aplomb - similar vocal style to Axl without the ******** factor.

A couple of highlights were Angry Anderson performing the Rose Tattoo classic Nice Boys and Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother ripping through a dirty version of Woman - also a sensational instrumental version of the theme from The Godfather.

Slash and his band will be back touring later in the year - if you're into that type of things I suggest you grab tickets, you won't be disappointed.

Slash died with the Gunners .....
Hard to dissagree.

I remember lining up with some of Melbournes local bikies outside the glass house to see them on the "Guns over Oz" tour (supported by Kings of The Sun) in, I think 1988.
KOTS put on a great show, but GNR were at the peak of their powers.

Man, that takes me back. Think its time to crank up the turn table and spin some Faster Pussycat, Ratt, and LA Guns!!!

I hate to nit pick (I lie, I love it) mate, but Myles was Mayfield Four, not Creed.

Huge fan though. Really looking forward to the next Alter Bridge album if/when it ever bloody comes out.

September this year apparently. Although when you take into account the Live from Amsterdam DVD that was supposed to be released last year...who knows.

Found a video from the MTV Classic launch for anyone interested:
