I know! I keep drifting onto the right hand side of the road before I snap out of it and remember to drive on the left. Sort of weird after all these years of playing American games and getting used to driving on the right.

Yeah it felt completely normal in GTA
I think it must be the closer camera angle from behind the car + improved newer graphics

I don't know about short, I am only at 50% completion and have 18 hours up, 15 out of 30 story missions. In saying that, I have been doing all the favours, races, drug busts, etc, so no doubt all the side missions add a lot of gameplay.

also just finished it now. Yeah that was too short. I mean, I had some epic sessions, but it feels like there was another whole story to be told.
that bit at the end, after killing Big Smile E or whoever the ****, I thought yeah this is over. Then there was the whole crooked cop angle, I thought awesome it's not ever, it's just the next big level-up... and it finished with him getting mailed a ****ing data stick and cut scenes. Seriously, could have kept going!

Apart from that, though, awesome game really, without high expectations. Whilst far from perfect, the game-play was great (if ever so slightly repetitive), the location was awesome and the story was not bad. Some ok characters, but nothing on the level of GTA.

I tell you, if they made the same quantum leap with this series as happened with, say, after Assassins Creed I though, you'd probably have one of the best games ever

Assassins Creed? They are the most repetitive games you will find, and the differences between games are incremental at best. What a strange example to use.

Picked this up Thursday night and haven't been able to put it down since, currently at 66% of the story completed but i'll slow down a bit and do all the side missions & collectables, definitely one I'll be aiming for 100% completion (and the platinum trophy)

Enjoying the story too, couldn't get into GTA4's story so its a nice to have a similar game where i give a **** about what's going for a change.

Nearly picked it up today, thought i might d/l the demo and have a crack at that first.

Just gave the demo a go myself.

It's a pretty impressive demo. You get the Dogeyes mission that has been shown in almost every showing of this game, plus a warehouse mission. One shows off the hand-to-hand combat and the other the shooting.

Both work fairly well. The shooting is a little iffy, but it's workable. And the combat is decent, if not really much on Batman's still (it just doesn't have that same rhythm to it), the grapple and environmental objects are very fun though - reminds me a lot of The Punisher game from PS2, played that one a lot for the brutal environmental kills.

Am interested more now after giving it a go, the world and story seems like it'd be really good to delve into and the gameplay doesn't feel as janky as it looks.

May pick it up before the deluge of games.

Just got back from watching Total Recall and there was a part in the movie where the lead character is showing a new guy how to do things...The new guys voice sounded very familiar as I have been playing a fair bit of Sleeping Dogs lately....Just done a quick check on IMDB and found it was the lead voice actor from SD, just as I expected.

they are all over the place and not hard to find - they are the martial arts schools I think they're called from memory

Arent they different?? fairly sure they have different icons. fight clubs are the fight round structure where you fight waves of increasing thugs and martial arts schools are where you trade in the green statues for learning more moves??

oh, been a few weeks since I finished it; there is obviously the place you give the guy the jade statues, but I thought the ones where you fought the increasing enemies were martial arts schools. Either way, I always found them pretty clearly marked on the map?

I only found them last night (and yes they were clearly marked...orange icon) so it might be a progression thing (got the game two weeks ago an only put in a few solid hours, loving it though), they are only available after completing a set amount of missions.

yeah cool that sounds about right then :thumbsu: I really like the one up in the carpark - I ended up chucking half the guys over the wall! It's great, because it kills them with one move. The only problem I had was at one point I had beaten almost every guy, was in the final wave, and I tried to do a sprint kick on one of the last guys, and ended up leaping over the wall and forfeiting all my progress! Spewing!
