List Mgmt. Sloane and Mitchell

Just remember these players will only be good in round 1 and decline from there.
If we got Sloane or anyone of that ilk and he went backwards we may as well board the club up lol

IMO wont happen, Our major risk is that GWS gets him to re sign. **** the hawks. If GWS still cant get him to commit he is ours.
Lol, I would do a salary cap investigation if Hawthorns get him.

I would think GWS will resign him, but the whole academy story may change that

Trade vickery for a late first rounder
Possibly trade conca for one too
Trade grimes or batchelor

Back in the young talent: mcbean mcdonough mckenzie mcintosh ellis lennon menadue elton etc

Delist: newman dea lloyd petterd thomas arnot

Then go to draft and trade tables. Keep the earliest first rounder. Possibly trade the others for a player or to further improve our draft pisition.

Ace this bloody draft please

They had about a million dollars set aside for a bloke called Franklin, remember.

They signed Frawley but he'd only be on a bit over half of that.

Of the possible destinations, unfortunately I think Collingwood and the Hawks might have more money than us for Sloane and Shiel. Pies have turfed a lot of players lately that would have taken up salary cap...

You would think if the Hawks land either that would be the death of free agency, no matter how well they juggle the books.

If all thats being reported or rumoured is correct then the deals that would make the most sense for richmond and have some chance of being done are

Tyrone Vickery to Brisbane for James Aish - I would think both would suit the new clubs needs and would make sense
Dylan Shiel (if whats being said that he has decided richmond is his preffered club) - Our 1st round pick which looks like top 10 atm
Sloan/Dangerfield - We really need to get a FA GUN player this year to take the next step

Dangerfield,Shiel,Aish To replace Newman,Lloyd,Morris in our starting lineup

If that all happened, we would straight away go from middle of the road to top 4 side

Vickery and pick upgrade for Murphy from Carlton? Or straight trade...

Agree, would like Shiel, WHE, Sloane...

Didn't Mitchell just sign? And now that he's cracked into the side he'll keep his spot and would imagine he'll stay. As for Sloane and Shiel, would love either one of them. I think we will be aggressive come trade time because we have copped our fair share of criticism for not doing anything over last years trade period.
Sure am sick of hearing about this war chest but not doing anything with it.

I really don't get this war chest talk.... Clubs have to pay 95% of the entire salary cap each year. So even if we are only paying 95% that only leaves about 600k spare. The cap is about 10. something million isn't is? I know they are going to allow clubs to save space and then spend up to 105% or whatever of the cap space but that still won't make a huge difference and I'm not sure that we would do that now anyway with the position of our list....

So the war chest needs to be spent in the football dept, not really going to be spent on players (as we already spend enough of the cap on players).

I would doubt we are only paying 95% too as we like to over pay spuds....

H. Benell, Sloane, D.Shiel . I'd really take a hard look at C.Yarren too.. ......Homer drooling....

Vickery?
I'd be surprised if any club offered anything more than a half-sucked paddle pop for that spud.
You will be suprised at how much value he will have come trade period
I thought you might have enjoyed yourself

Straight swap for smurph but i wouldnt throw any sweeteners - smurph 28 yo

Isnt that what Blair has been brought to the club to do ! Anybody can convince a Hunt,Thomas,Hampson,Chaplin to come - Its the Elite players we need otherwise he can find another job

At least you know the real value of Vickery, unlike many other posters here.

Vickery is one huge disappointment from what I've seen and unlikely to have much currency with other clubs. A pick in the mid 30s would be the best he would bring.

Many BF posters have inflated ideas of the value of ordinary players on their own list but also down grade the value of really good players on other teams lists.

On the open market Dylan Shiel is worth somewhere in the pick 1-3 range, he's already a gun with yet more upside and still young so plenty of years to offer a new club.

BF posters should look at the trades from recent seasons to get a better understanding of the REAL value of players. Neither Vickery nor Conca will get you late first round picks.

Sloane is highly likely to re sign or will go to a Melbourne club that is challenging. Mitchell finally looks to have regained his place in the Sydney midfield producing big numbers and as a contracted F/S won't be going anywhere.

Good luck with the Shiel chase.

Have to laugh at those thinking Vickery has some value.

If we want Sloane it will need to be a good deal. Love the bloke but maybe Edwards to return home and our first round pick would be the sort of trade needed to get the job done. Doesn't seem quite as good now eh?

Shiel is gettable but it will depend on some part to what Choco is doing. If he retires (or is sacked with Hardwick as 140+ pages in the sack dimma thread suggest) then why would Shiel pick Richmond? I thought he was a Carlton fan growing up so he might be heading that way???

We couldn't get the deal done with Armitage last year which would have been great nor could we get Greenwood. Our biggest name in recent trade history was Hampson :(

That was only big because of his missus!

You guys gotta stop recruiting list cloggers/role players from other teams. Miles is your only recent winner in the trade in stakes?
