The club is certainly going backwards though. I can't be sure if it's personnel, strategy, game plan, fitness or whatever. It's hard to tell.

Jeez - very harsh on Sloane.

Very easy to have a crack when watching a replay in slow motion of what he did. If you watch closely - he actually stumbles about 1 second before trying to kick. Really think this affected his ability to see Jaensch to the side as he was trying to regain his balance and move the ball forward.

Wasn't a great day from Sloaney. Everitt was fantastic on him and he is going to have to learn how to deal with the hard tag after other teams how Malthouse shut him down.

Sloane is only human. Can't expect all players to be perfect every week. With all the pressure and emotions they go through.

Obviously, yes, we were spoiled. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't expect it from our leaders.

That was frustrating to watch. The umpires we're inconsistent. They also paid ridiculous deliberate out of bounds on both sides.

My observation is that frees in a contest are paid less often if they will result in a goal.

You are correct. Which just reflects on how poorly our game is umpired. Surely a free kick should be a free kick, regardless of where on the ground the infringement occurred. Imagine a cricket umpire not calling a wide because the bowling side only has a few runs to play with. You infringe, you get penalised.

Sloane would be gutted by his overall performance against the Blues - a rare poor performance for him - & he will be doing everything to rectify in future games.

If all the players put in like Sloane all the time, we would be firmly entrenched in the top-8!

Seems like whenever the guys do an interview on how good they are, that week they play there worst game. Jaench did it to a few weeks ago.

There is now way any umpire doesn't clearly see that top one. It is in the open.
Sloanes is in more of a contested situation and you could forgive the umpire for perhaps not seeing it. In fast motion it does look like a throw. I'm tipping the umpire had the old 'crow throw' in his head (something that doesn't exist but Vic commentators like to throw out there regularly).
The first one is absolutely disgraceful. That umpire should be umpiring in the country for a while to learn what it is about.

Anyone watch last nights game? Did you notice how many times players were called for one handed handballs last night? Looks like the umpire boss reacted. Of course it is too late for us.
