Small forward

I reckon Nathan Jones would go alright as a small forward, he has pretty good goal sense and i reckon he'll kick quite a few more if he spends more time up forward.

We have quite a few players we can play up forward and rotate through the midfield with Jones, Green, Sylvia, Davey, Petterd, Blease, Bennel, Jetta and Nicholson. I don't think drafting a small forward is our highest priority at the moment, we need more depth with our midfield.

Sadly i dont think this draft will provide the midfielders we need, thats next year with 3 first rounders

We might get somebody at 32 but after that i think it will be hard to pick, and any great mids will be likely gone prior to even pick 30...

Is this where Brad Dick possibly comes in? It's worth the punt if his body holds up, particularly with Misson running the fitness aspect.

Can only hope Nev Jetta tells the coaching staff to get stuffed if they ask him to train as a FP.

Both Blease & Jones know where the goals are, but neither are exactly what we are looking for as forwards & either of them spending any time forward would be at the expense of the already large group of medium forwards we've got competing for not enough positions, we shouldn't be trying to rob our midfield for this.

We don't just need a small forward, we specifically need a crumbing forward, someone like Aussie at his peak he can be at Clark or whoever's feet.

I assume that is criticizing their lack of pressure? Are you forgetting Ricky's 14 tackle game? He also averaged almost 4 tackles a game, pretty good for a forward.

Nobody at the Lions or Bombers will be content with their forward-50 pressure in Round 14. But for Petterd and Melbourne it was a watershed weekend.

Petterd's 13 forward tackles, five more than the entire 44 players who lined up for the Lions and Bombers, was the most recorded since Champion Data started keeping the stat in 1999.

It was six more than the five players who held the record - Robin Nahas (Richmond), Jeff Garlett (Carlton), Tom Hawkins (Geelong), Robert Copeland (Brisbane) and Andrew Krakouer while at Richmond.

Brad Dick is training with Collingwood - the competition's 2nd best side are still not prepared to give up on him, despite possessing a stronger squad than us, more small forward options and his terrible in jury record. With Wonna and Maric gone (emo is training at Richmond, North really must have changed their mind!) I really think we should be chasing BD hard...

Injury prone forward who therefore can't get a game with Collingwood. He's good enough to play for them I'm sure, but with his injuries and doubts over his commitment to excellence they've put it on him to do a preseason to earn his spot back.

Sometimes to get up to elite level you have to take a chance on blokes. Personally I think we should try and build the culture a bit more first, but I can see the case for Brad.
