Feel like Roberts has battled today.

I tore him to shreds last week but he's been amongst our best today.

Edit: oh hey I'm the OP for the postgame.

Port 20.13 133 def. Ess 10.10 70.

Didn't think the effort could get worse than last week but somehow we outdid ourselves.

2 insipid performances to start the year playing virtually all available senior players. Time for ripping the bandaid off.

Should’ve let Merrett go.
… not because Merrett is rubbish but because we could’ve pushed the rebuild.

Tassie should come in to complete Essendon's season.

There was a passage in the first half, Essendon defender had the ball on the half back line, think it was Parish, ran across towards the boundary, turned around and ran back to the middle, instead of running up the wing to offer a lead. The defender eventually kicked the ball to a nothing contest.

I don't know any other club where players get in each other's way as many times as Essendon players do. This has been a feature of Essendon for years.

Happy with Johnson and that Kako had 5 shots on goal (1.4) and Caddy 7(4.3) when we didn't get the ball in the F50 a lot.

That's about it.

Langford (cooked), Parish (practically cooked), Wright (not good enough anymore)and Perkins (nowhere near it) need to come under the microscope.

How can we go so far backwards from last year which was shocking to begin with, half the team looks lost, shot on confidence... We arguably have the worst ruck division, midfield, forward line and defence in the AFL. Even when a team is struggling usually there is a shining light or some kind of strength to work from... I can't think of one area on the field the bombers have an advantage. If there is no progress or change we are looking at a wooden spoon this year. I think the footy world is starting to all agree with Merrett who clearly saw the writing on the wall.

It just keeps getting more demoralising when you think it can’t. I think we need to make a call on Brad. You can’t get towelled by 10 goals by a bottom 6 side te way we did. We play aimlessly, unaccountably & we’re not learning.

This isn’t sustainable for a year.

Johnson and Caddy were good.

Kako could’ve had a great game if he kicked a couple more of those goals.

Langford and Parish can get in the bin. If they’re not dropped we’re not serious about rebuilding
