What he will do is lead by example....Something i want more of from JZ
Which is fine , we have seen him lead from the front many times, he is coming back from injury and playing through one.

However call isn't between Ben and Jack.

The call is between Jack and say Jacobs (who I know is Ben as well but that's confusing)

Is Jacobs going to come in and provide the level of Leadership JZ does?

He going to say its not good enough when its not good enough? or is he just going to be happy he's getting a game?

You drop Jack from the 22 nd you lose something that is not readily available in the team. A bloke who has the stones to stand up the front and say it just not good enough.

Like many others, I see this as a danger game. Not because Richmond are anything fabulous, but more because we seem to have a habit of buying into any hype about our wins.

I'd be shutting up shop this week and avoiding any media work. Singular focus on the game and starting with a bang. If we get out of the blocks well, we've got the ability to put the Tiggies to the sword, but if we turn up 5% off our game it could be rather embarrassing. Focus, intent and workrate is what is needed here.

This JZ stuff this week is so similar to some of the suff some posters were pushing last week against Swallow. Give him time to get over his injuries and let him play at half forward pushing into the midfield like Adams and Nahas, problem solved. Injuries have negatively impacted on him, debatable atm whether he is best 22 atm with the shoulder injury it appears.

I can sere where benbanjo is coming from.

However with all pros and cons balanced out, I would have Jack Zibell in the starting 18 every week. The much vaunted rotation off a HFF would be helpful to team balance though.
I get it.

He is down this year on previous years. I struggle with the idea that he can be easily replaced.

He's not.

Either is Cunners.

This line of questions is pretty silly.

They compliment each other.
I'm sure they do. "You are so best 22, Jack." "Thanks, Ben, and can I say I reckon you are the result of Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa doing the hippity-dippity."

But I think you mean complement.

I never said he was better. I said looks up to him...

Look at what Scott has admitted to doing. Trying to develop a midfield that will compare to the past of Geelongs. If you look at the drafts. May it be a year separating them. Players like Ziebell, Cunners, Basti, Atley, Jmac. He is trying to develop them at similar rates, make them all aware of eachothers game style so they respond to situations better then the opposition because they will know what to expect from each other.
Jay Z won't be turned into an example for slightly underperforming to his usual output.

Scott has plenty of time for him..

There is a whole thread on this
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/jack-ziebell.1065176/page-3

where non one eyed supporters are also not satisfied with what he is serving up at the moment.

BTW how long does poor form last? Or how long do we accept poor form? is it 2-3 weeks 5-8? 10-12? whats the cap on poor form?

Dont forget even NDS was dropped at StK.... and he is a far better player than JZ

JZ is best 22 no doubt but he needs to go up a cog or two - been poor most of this year, injury excuse or otherwise.

Leadership ability alone doesn't keep him in the team, nor should it.

I'm confident he will come good as he has proven in the past how good he can be. If the injury is affecting him like people are claiming (maybe rightly), then he shouldn't play.

So you are saying JZ is a better player than Cunners?
I'd say Jack is more likely to pull out a game-breaking quarter or two than Cunners. I think on balance, consistency, and importance to the side Ben's probably overtaken him a bit. Hyperbole about "10 times the player" is silly.

Seems to me that posters on this board think that the only way to motivate out of form players is to drop them.

Ziebell may not be firing every match this year (though he has played a couple of good games) but Ziebell at that level is still better for the team than our alternatives, even though I'm as optimistic about Jacobs as the next bloke, so dropping him would hurt our team in the faint hope that it would motivate him into getting form.

Why don't we have the best of both worlds and play him (and others) and figure out other ways to get him back to firing consistently.

JZ is zero chance to be dropped. Not sure why this is even being discussed.
Couldn't agree more..... Almost as head scratching as the drop Hansen thing yesterday...
Now that Basti put together a solid game and Grima, Wells, JMac, Taz to eventually come in... Barring more (dare I say it) injuries, will be a great headache to have. Those four listed are walk up best 22 players imo.
