Smith and the 2028 Olympics

i keep hearing about how Smith is keen to play 20/20 for Australia at the 2028 Olympics.
it's still 3 years away.

6 teams, 3 teams get medals - to me cricket doesn't belong there, but he has voiced several times he is eager to play.

keen to hear everyone's thoughts whether Smith will make it or not?

he'll be 39 when the Olympics come round and currently not in the national side.

will he continue to play for:
-Sydney Sixers (BBL)
-Welsh Fire (The Hundred)
-Washington Freedom (MLC)
-IPL (if he gets picked up)

will he continue in the test arena after the ashes this summer as well ?

he may well continue in the test arena as the top end bangladesh series and the away south africa test tour next year, also provides a clear window to play for the Fire & Freedom.

the following year sees us touring England (WTC Final - if we qualify and the ashes) and may well be a clash with Fire & Freedom, if he is still playing test cricket.

Seriously 6 teams? F**k off how cheap do they want to make an Olympic medal for someone who might bowl 7 overs of trash and take 0-88 and hit 26 off 15 for the tournament compared to the bloke who wins the decathlon

the 1900 olympics had only 2 cricket teams compete, with Great Britian beating France.

looks like he has 1 more home summer in the test arena (maybe 2) and play 20/20 cricket around test cricket.

apparently now joined the Amsterdam Flames.

no cricket for 5 months, unless parachuted into the world cup squad or a last minute contract with an IPL team.

he hasn't given up on making the olympics.
