Well, he kicked 6 in the reserves - if he is fully fit we should throw him right into the deep end. He is a fully developed player by now, so he should have a crack at playing against the big boys.

Seeing as we really have nothing to lose now, maybe we should see what this fella can do..

We need to take advantage of this historic time, where he is actually not injured.
Play him, before he returns to the injury list and we miss our chance.

Could he possibly do any worse than half the senior players at the moment??

Not ready yet. I understand the thinking behind it, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a go, but he did kick 6 in the Sandy 2's after all. Give him a game or two in the 1's, and then we can see from there.
I tend to agree. But whatever happens, we need to try and give him at least one game this season.
Its ridicilous that he has been around the club for so many years, and has played less games than Sylvia or McLean!

Not entirely his fault. 2004 went out the window with injuries and poor form, same for 2005, although more so on the injury front. I reckon the guy needs a good pre-season under his belt.

Well Sandy 1s have a bye this week and the 2s play at Werribee. So I'd say Smith will stay in the Sandy 2s.

He kicked a goal luckily against Port two weeks ago, I don't get excited about one game. Let him stay where he is and see how he goes this week.

So Adam, spot on mate, when you say not ready yet!

When am I ever wrong anyway Brad? :p

If we have to play a young tall, give a game to Bate. If Smith gets a few more bags, then there may be a spot for him.

No way, if he was fit maybe, but has has played bugger all footy in the last 2 seasons. I don't think his ability is in question, it's his body that's the issue.

Take it slow, let him get some game time at Sandy to build towards a good preseason with a view to 2006, 2005 is a write off.

What is this is he ready ********. No one is ever ready, it is just at somestage they got to go out and play. After last week, having anyone down in the forward line who is big and can mark would just fine.

Sandy seniors had a bye, i think it was for the reserves again. However considering how we are going right now we couldn't do any worse so why not give Smith and Bate a shot.
