I reckon! I sometimes leave my mobile at home to prevent me from doing it... hate that sinking feeling waking up Sunday morning realising you were SMS'ing some skank/female friend on your phone at 4am ****ed as a fart trying to pull a....

I work for Telstra, last week a program was forwarded to some business group (external to Telstra) to look at SMS messages being able to be sent via your home or work computer. Look for a release may'be mid next year. But I'd say the SMS message rates will still apply :( So get your work to buy the licence.

oh my god......had this experience just only 11 hrs ago.
Messaged a guy to tell him that I am madly love in love with him at 4:30 this morning after seeing him out last night.....(just friends)....and yeah no reply......can't remember what I wrote either.
It's not a good thing to have a mobile in bed with you after you just get home.......outcome I think will not be good!

try a web site called smspup.com.au. you have to get points to send sms but it is all free. All you have to do is read an e mail and click on a link to an advertisiement, or complete a quick survey to earn points.

It also increases your chances of sending the message to the wrong person. Which can be quite embarrassing. I've managed to do that a few times.

Oh yeah, I do that too. Optus can be crap sometimes and it can take ages to get messages through. It's a horrible wait sometimes to find out if it's just Optus being slow or just me sending to the wrong number.

There are places on the net that you can send for free and type using your computer. Most a restricted to a certain amount of smss per day for everyone.

Yep, I have Optus. The delays can be very frustrating with them. There have been quite a few times when someone has blamed me for ignoring their messages or pretending I didn't receive them. When in fact it was Optus' fault.

But I still can't blame Optus for my own stupid (drunken) fault of sending embarrassing messages to the wrong person.
