Busslinger over Mackenzie for us.
You're joking right?
We absolutely need to spend our first two picks on midfielders this draft.

Can't see us passing on both Clark or MacKenzie for another half back flanker in Ginbey. We have them coming out of our ears.

Good for the saints this one. I think we are starting to target local boys. Gonna have a massive crack at Finn next year aswell

I do, they obviously saw the need for a player like that and have just addressed that need through the trade but I still see a void on the list and see him fitting the need.
I'm hoping the Suns take him. Even if they trade back a few spots - reckon both Geelong (Clark) and St Kilda (mcKenzie) would be interested in moving up to get their targets.

Just makes so much sense to join the brothers, and with Ellis getting on and Sharp a chance of leaving next year it fills a need.

He is as much a half back flanker as Mackenzie

Really liked what I saw in the State Champs in the middle. Plus his athleticism is exciting.

Just find it hard to pass on 2 VIC kids who I feel have shown more in the middle for a longer duration of time.

That may be the case but here is my pov, they are the same as who the hawks already have. He would be a point of difference in the middle. He has the Sam Mitchell aggression, is taller and faster than anyone in your midfield and has leadership qualities and a high football iq And more athletic all round. You have wingmen, a bunch of small mids, lost some senior mids, young defs and fwds, so I think he would be a big point of difference in the middle. I have had the hawks taking Mackenzie most of the year but with the loss of mitchell and omeara I think a big bodied mid is what you need.

Kind of hoping Hawks or GC take Ginbey so WC can't. He's basically Hugh Greenwood imo

I think there is more a chance he goes before your next pick than Hewett would, they like them both and let’s face it, you need some of everything, not just mids. I do think, if I were talking about pick swaps (honestly) there is a chance you try to move that pick and maybe another, with Syd for their two first rounders and that will give you more of a chance to grab, Hewett, Allan, and Jones, with more of a pull towards local talent this year and next especially, then target others later in the draft for needs.

Fair enough, everyone is allowed their opinion. Just so you know, Hugh Greenwood, apart from disposal amounts to tim Kelly, has better stats than anyone in your midfield, better tackle count, inside 50’s, score involvements are on par, tackles inside 50, clearances and way less turnovers And also showing his team play, more 1%’s. Maybe west coast could do with a Hugh greenwood

I'm not sure it's accurate to say we need key defenders, it seems like the one area of the ground that we actually have the players (both established and up and coming).
Using our first pick on a key defender is a disaster given our midfield woes.

Smythe, it seems you are not a fan of Hotton ?

I had him at gws pick 19, then changed it and forgot to put him back in. That was all done in a rush pre trade time finishing. A two round phantom is being drafted now all picks are semi sorted with reasons for those picks attached. I had spotted the error but it seems like nobody else but you did. Well done Sir, The Monocle works well. ;)

I'm warming to the idea of Busslinger. As you say we need a fair bit since we're at ground level of the rebuild.

WC fans seem to want mids with every pick this year, but a pairing of Bazzo and Busslinger is fortifying the backline for 10 years potentially.
