I can see where you’re coming from, but we’ve already got 4 young inside mids on the list that Sam will be liking to give time too, so I can’t see us trading out 26 to get another. Particularly if Taylor or Roberts are there.

We need balanced mids and a small forward.
fair enough but who are they by the way, Worple has stagnated big time, but under sam maybe that will change, bramble and newcombe are hard at it tacklers and new and need time, saunders is still light and will need a lot more time and on top of that you got rid of cousins, and neither of those four aforementioned can get forward to kick goals. I would rate Ned Long alongside Roberts in their ability to get the ball and be smart with it, both can go forward and kick goals and with the swap i was suggesting it helped the hawks also get a very good small forward in terms of small forwards from this draft.

You've made it up to St.Kilda after the penultimate phantom draft.

Ward, Owens, Windhager and Dean is one hell of a draft! Hope it falls that way because I don't think we could do any better.
i dont make it up to teams :tearsofjoy: i have just been giving pick swap ideas, and i definitely did not make them to get players where 'I' want them, as you suggested last pick swap draft :confusedv1:
But yeah this one turned out ok for the saints, and also with that swap with Brisbane it gave the Lions points to help for next years bid matching process they will endure by getting rid of picks they were not going to use this year anyway

You missed Brisbane’s third pick at 41, which ends up being pick 43 straight after Sydney. Will gladly take Same Banks off North. Cheers.

Worpel, Newcombe, Nash, Maginness.

I just can’t see us trading out 26 for picks in the 30’s.

No pick swapping by Collingwood despite what Hine said to Twomey?
Think they will try and back in around 25-35, but how high may depend on Daicos going at 3 or 4

I'm not a huge draft expert but would the bulldogs still have their pick (19) after matching the bid for Darcy? I thought the match was from their next pick on for points, though I'm not certain.

Could someone help with that? Thanks

yeah i thought about it but also couldn't find anyone they would get a trade over the line with and what for, so no i didn't trade anything for collingwood

Also, we can’t take pick 64 to the draft, as we don’t have a corresponding list spot.

We either have to trade it before the cut off date a week before the draft, or we lose it at the list lodgement date before the draft.

Love your work but just have to say that it's a running joke that Freo will draft a half back flanker from Vic Metro. Really hoping we actually wouldn't do that though.

I would be over the moon if we got Darcy, Motlop and Schlensog

We either have to trade it before the cut off date a week before the draft, or we lose it at the list lodgement date before the draft.
I have a vague idea picks become dormant if you don't have sufficient list spots, but reactivate in their original spot if you use picks ahead of them to trade/match bids. I might be wrong.

That used to be the rule for last year only, but we reverted back to the 2019 rules, so clubs lose those picks at the list lodgement date, when pick trading ends, a week out from the draft.

Ta - I don't suppose you have that in writing? Not doubting, just curious how it's framed.

I like Wilmot, but unless we are confident he can play wing/midfield I agree with you.
If it's wing/mid they're picking at 21, Sonsie and Chesser are still there. Wilmont makes no sense.

Also, DIb isn't an upgrade on Western - and Western struggles to get a game.

Doesn't sound right to me - in draft trading has to be considered - wouldn't make sense for clubs to have picks locked in and then just not be able to draft someone if they saw an opportunity to trade out picks, they should just fall back to the end of the draft. Clubs need to make as many picks as they want in the draft to fill their 36-38 or whatever it is on the senior list (including leaving spots open for SPP if they wish).
