WA Liberal tips Lions over 'tree-hugger's team'

A Western Australian Liberal MP has urged West Australians to get behind
Brisbane in this weekend's AFL grand final against Collingwood.

Margaret River Liberal MLC Barry House has used State Parliament to attack
the Collingwood Football Club, its president and its coach.

Mr House described Collingwood president Eddie McGuire as a seller of snake
oil and its coach Mick Malthouse as a tree-hugger.

Mr House, who represents the south-west region, says Malthouse lent his
celebrity status in an inappropriate way to the anti-logging debate in
Western Australia before the last state election.

"Therefore, for those reasons and a host of others I could go into, come on
Brisbane on Saturday," Mr House said.

"I hope they do, I hope they do well."
