Mordialloc credit to them this weekend, after what was told a slow pre season. Great effort to start 2-0.

Cranbourne - complete dismantle of the doggies, shown why they are short favs to win the flag.

Springvale 2 near 10 goal defeats at the hands of the eagles and saints. Have they been unlucky early in the season or are they tipped to fight for relegation - understand no wetering but Vickery is just as good to replace him.

The panthers look like they might struggle this season.

Dingoes knock off the colts as they slide to 0-2.

What did we make of the weekend results - credit to the teams in division 1 this season already looks like a more competitive year 1-10 might only have 10-12 goals between on good days. Unlike the last 2-3 years where highett, oakleigh etc were getting done by 20+ goals weekly.

Springy look to have been reasonably competitive for 3 qtrs against the sides I reckon are the best two in it . Their effort against Cranbourne might prove to be a pretty respectable one after the eagles dismantle a few more sides in the coming weeks.

Very much agree….Springy will be very competitive I can’t see them making the finals but they will get it a shake…..probably 6-7. Top 3 way out in front. Rest making up the numbers

Cranbourne haven’t missed the finals in probably the last 15 years coming from a very strong comp they will be very hard to beat

I'd say

Unless they can get some of their St Kevins OB reserves boys running around in the early game to step up, we may not be seeing them in division 1 next year

Chelt big win at home today hosting Cranbourne, missing at least 6 Senior players due to injury, 5 goals up with minutes to go to win by 18 pts, high quality game and huge turnout by Cranbourne supporters to an away game

TV kicked 5 for Springy on Friday and blitzed but no mention in match details. From what I saw he is way above this level. Dingley were missing a few as well.
Anyone know about fall out between Dingley senior and juniors. I hear that juniors have lost about 3 age groups. (14, 15, 16 teams)

In regards to Dingley juniors, I do know that a whole bunch of their U/15s (U/14s last year) got suspended due to breaching the social media policy. Most upwards of 4-6 weeks. That would put a strain on getting a team up & running

That might affect one team, they have lost four.

Agree with that, most of those new recruits are 2's footballers at best and may play the odd 1's game. I shudder to think what the season would be looking like without that group blowing in.

Bentleigh not that bad but chelt got good defence, great smalls and solid forwards. Gonna be hard to beat them
