Top of the table clash last night with the Peninsula All Stars winning by 90pts 😱😱😱. Give them the flag and call it all off! 10 goals on top of the rest
Maybe if flags were won in May
Their reserves have a number out but seniors only 2-3 out and probably only one of them in top 10 players
Who knows how healthy any list will look in 4 months time Long long way to go

Fair call BUT there's a loooong way to go pal , top talent in round 4 doesn't lock anything away in that special cabinet that sits a top every club , timing is everything. Good luck to em tho their putting on a clinic at the moment

How is the bloke still playing?
Surely there should be a no fault stand down rule for situations like this (as rare as it is)

Unfortunately from what I read no umpires witnessed the attack so they are only going off players coaches and supporters so that’s why they got the investigator in because how series all the statements are could go on for weeks but I do agree he shouldn’t be playing

Disgraceful Skye have allowed him to play. Shambles of a club and an incident like this has been brewing for a while now with that club. The players and fans (not all) were terrible at stages last year.
Have some balls and stand down the bloke who king hit someone

Unfortunately you just can't do that. You're going into the guilty until proven innocent route and that can't happen. There must be a lot of conflicting eye witness accounts of the situation. Whos to say all the Skye eye witness lying about what they saw? Whos to say anyone else lying because they hate Skye? It would be incredibly difficult especially as the guilty result would and should be deregistered and never to be allowed to play footy again and if not crimminal charges which would have sever life consequences for the guy. You want the truth and correct decision.

The club and in particular the playing group would know what happened, or at least generally what occurred. Other clubs have taken action in similar circumstances.

Also, the league has stood players down during investigations previously, as unfair as that has the potential to be.

You can only assume the Skye player hasn’t done anything untoward
Surely any club would give an immediate boot to a player who cowardly hits an opposition player
If the player is guilty current executive committee would also have to be sacked

How good is the player in question? Fringe 1s ? Steady 1s player or Absolute gun?

Sometimes it doesn’t matter what the umpire sees, the league tribuneral is a shambles. They are happy to suspend off sketchy witnesses that stories are not even close to aligning, doesnt even have to make sense.

A post on the VAFA boards indicated that East Malvern has possibly shown some interest in moving from the SFL to the VAFA. Personally I couldn't see it happening but certainly interested to hear the thoughts of those in this thread.

The club has no junior feeder, hasn't won a senior match in over 2 years and the 2's couldn't field a side last week. I'm not sure moving leagues would resolve any of these issues.

Yeah you're right it won't help. But I'd be very much interested to see this post about them moving? Can you link me, cheers.

Not a huge post regarding it (About half way down the page from the link that I posted), but certainly garnished a few responses. Including myself.

I reckon a move to the VAFA might finish them as a club. That area is awash with strong (and not so strong) ammo clubs. They provide something of a point of difference and if you withdrew the ability to attract recruits via remuneration they would be shot. Easier said than done I know but they share a venue with a massive junior club. If they provide a pathway for just a small % of EMJFC kids they might remain viable without breaking the bank. Maybe an U18s program for non-private school kids (which are rare in those parts I know).

Bloody hard to compete with the VAFA U19s which has 5 or 6 divisions which ensures a more equitable competition. 15 or more years since the reintroduction the SFL under comp and it is still not viable. Only 9 clubs involved and just 3 clubs from Div. 1. Not good enough. There has to be some incentive or disincentive introduced to promote the unders.

Now I know you are taking the piss Fink…..they were putrid today!
Don’t steer away from the obvious
No Dunn no Caulfield?
East Malvern to get on a roll now with a few back
Tom Lamb kicked 8 goals 12 today and 2 on the full
Always exciting to see big forwards dominate no matter what level of football

They finally did it.

After 3 years without a senior win the panthers re-write the script and hammer Caulfield. Play like that every week and you'd be surprised what results you can achieve.

Hopefully it's not another 3 years before the next win!
