Absolutely disgusting the info coming from Skye v Keys game. Who ever did it should be insta banned from playing, involved at any club and jailed.

Obviously we have heard about the incident but what was the build up to it? Were their spot fires all game? Anything nasty? I 100% don’t condone what was done but to think the perpetrator just went out and king hit an opponent would leave me perplexed. That sort of stuff went out of the game in the mid 90s.

Of course I understand, but regardless if he was provoked or not SFNL needs to set an example of this one and absolutely throw the book on it. It just can not ever happen again.

Watching brief moments of the game replay spot fires here and there but nothing involving the ruckman and he’s hit so far off the ball it’s an absolute disgrace

Keysborough ruck man allegedly king hit in the goal square by a Skye player so far off the ball it wasn't captured on video. The victim had to be revived on ground after having seizure and cardiac arrest.

Do we need to have a secondary video camera now which just records the full ground in one frame? Can't help feel that the incident being off camera is going to have some kind of affect on the situation. I'm honestly surprised Skye hasn't put out some letter from the President apologizing, explaining they have kicked the culprit out of the club and told never to come back.

Skye made a post about the clubs co operation with the league and keysborough so i think they are wiping there hands with the player no point outing him on Facebook that doesn’t cause any good. Luckily the goal umpire is right in front of it

Who were Skye playing? Wasn’t Skye involved in an altercation at the end of last season too when a game got called off? Not good for their club and the SFL.

I understand that their most recent home game (the final H&A match in 2022) was called off early due to an on-field incident which spilled over into a brawl in the crowd. Happy to be corrected if this was not the case or if others have a more accurate account of what happened.

Obviously it is unfair to malign an entire club due to the actions of a few and no doubt they have some very hardworking and decent people down there. However to have 2 of their last 3 matches and consecutive home games called off early must be a concern. Hope they can address whatever the issue might be.

The player or club?

Please don’t think I am defending what happened. If what is being widely reported occurred then the player should incur the maximum possible penalty, which may tip him into the life ban category (16 weeks?). There is no place for that type of crap in our game so good riddance I say. Likewise if the club has a history of poor behaviour or a culture that promotes this type of stuff (which I’m not sure it does), then they need to be held accountable. I’m only suggesting that all clubs have some decent, hardworking folk and that we should not tar everyone based on the actions of a minority. To be honest I don’t know much about them, but it seems that recently when they do we hear about them it is for all the wrong reasons.
