rumour is that Cerberus won’t be fielding a side this year, might only be a 7 team comp. Does that mean if you play them 3 times you get a W? Or no points?

They had 2 sides last year…..surely they haven’t dropped that many numbers. At least run with 1 side (like Hampton did last year). Does Hampton have 2s this year??

Cerberus have had 5 incoming and 15 outgoing players so rumor could be correct, and you would think Hampton will have a 2’s with only 1 outgoing and 18 incoming players.

Really hope Cerberus get a team up though

Will be interesting to see what they do considering both Moorabbin & Dandenong had them twice at home.
9 home games down to 7 is a huge loss for a local club in terms of revenue!

Dandy RedLegs Facebook page as they normally have a big game on Anzac Day round they have made a post saying it’s not going forward this year as Cerberus don’t have a team

I saw the other day in the Thirds draw that Cerebrus were in that as a joint team with South Mornington, meaning they probably only had enough for 1/2 a team and Sth Morn had 2 and 1/2 teams, so put the two halves together to get another team up in the clubbies comp

So basically no change to D4 of last year whereby Hampton didn't have a magoos & Cerberus didn't field a reserves side every second week...

More the point if another side ends up struggling and forfeiting every second week then teams will play 4 out of 7 weeks

Results in between blow outs and a close game.

South Yarra game far more one sided than I thought it would be.

South Mornington just moved it differently and more class up front.

Doveton just seemed to run riot

I watched the first half of Doveton v South Yarra & second half of Lyndale v South Mornington yesterday.

Doveton v South Yarra
Real scrappy affair with neither side having any noticeable plan or structure - just whack it on the boot & hope for the best whilst very little to no movement from defenders in terms of zones & structures.

Whilst Doveton have improved, South Yarra were incredibly disappointing. With no reserves side & clear lack of numbers and depth, it showed. There were blokes that played that wouldn’t get a gig anywhere else. Massive concern & here’s hoping the find the players they need to put two sides up for the rest of the year.
Doveton were okay without being outstanding. Without physically seeing Dandenong/Moorabbin/Hampton, I think these two will be the bottom two all year - the quality of football was that bad in dry conditions in the first half.
The blow out did surprise me a bit though so credit to them for putting the foot down in the second half. I didn’t see that happening when I left at HT.

Lyndale v South Mornington
For the amount of talk Lyndale got about their recruits, they were the biggest disappointment of the day. 60 points down when I arrived - only kicking 1.2 to HT. I was intrigued to see if South Mornington were as good as it appeared or Lyndale just not delivering.

Whilst Souths were sharp around the ground, they only had three absolute standouts on the day. A forward, wingman and midfielder which got the game moving for them. Definitely didn’t look any more impressive than the South Mornington of 2022 though! To my knowledge they were missing a handful of their top tier players - which will only add to their group.
Keeping in mind I saw the worst of the conditions for the day however I’ll be very surprised if Lyndale win more games than they lose…they’ll need a big turn around from here if they do!

Interested to watch the vision of Moorabbin v Hampton when it goes up. Sportscast only have the Doveton/Yarra game up this morning. They used to go up every Saturday night last year.
