Fairfax wouldn't put their names to something like this if there was a good chance of them getting sued, because even they would struggle to match the likes of Lowy, because Investigative Journalists,for the most part, look at every angle, even when it comes to reporting things that are potentially libelous.
And even then, people like Andrew Jennings seem to find a way to avoid the court trap, even when they've gone hell bent for leather for a story.
Bravo to Fairfax, for having the courage to ask questions that need to be said (Like, where did our money go ?), to go beyond the main stories, to speak truth to power, and to treat their readership like adults instead of 12 year old's like News Limited.
I can fault them for many things but, Fairfax needs to survive because there's no way in hell that News Limited would dare do a story with such depth and prose, and this is why I'm glad that we have our two most important cities continue to support two daily newspapers.
