Discussion So I crunched the numbers …. again

It’s ok - in fact it’s expected - that Committee reps will go back to their clubs and discuss what comes out of the discussions.

But we need to have threads that engage players across the SweetFA - including rookies - with information-seeking and ultimately with solutions to our “people problems” as Pamcake1 described them.

One obvious question is ….

Would there be some interest in celebrating 40 seasons?

If so, how?

I have asked that question in the Committee: What plans were made in commemorating/celebrating S40 (what was done towards this in the prior Committee.)
No answers as yet.

Personally, no. I think it makes more sense to celebrate year milestones of SweetFA. But I don't celebrate birthdays or shit like that so I'm probably not the right person to ask.

I feel like there's been less spam. The OOB thread was pretty enjoyable this season. Way less polluted with the gap filler of previous encounters.

So far this season we’ve given subtle reminders to 6 teams that one of theirs had a milestone imminent.

If all this comes down to people prioritising real life, then you’d have to call that a win for common sense surely, but if we can have our cake and eat it too, then bring it on!

A couple more clubs have returned to posting stats for their teams which is encouraging, while others are still struggling. There seems to be a correlation between overall club activity and ability to deliver posting stats, which I think is something to make us all think.

You can add to that whether or not teams do club awards or create media, but they’re more likely symptoms rather than the cause.

There’s plenty of obvious but difficult to manufacture factors too, like …

• having common interests
• reacting to posts
• prompts to encourage participation/assist understanding
• demonstrating originality in new media
• taking banter in good humour

Nice to see some clubs already bouncing back as we move into the AFL off-season

BRAB was appointed Spotswood's Head of Diversity & Inclusion S35 and as a result we have won many awards in this space, you probably don't know about all these accolades because at Spotswood we are modest and don't like to show off in front of the less fortunate folk.
